the night after graduation

the group decided to have dinner together at nini's house to celebrate the end of senior year and the end of high school. since the whole friend group was going to different states to attend different colleges, occasions like this would be rare.

everyone in the group was settled, knowing which college they were going to, except for ricky. no one really knew (even nini) if he got in to the colleges he applied to. he intended to keep everything a secret. until today.

they were all in the living room, talking about their plans for college until ej asked, "ricky, we haven't heard from you yet? what's your plan?"

"ok hear me out." ricky started as he pulls a small beige box and hands it over to nini.

"hey if this is a distraction to not tell us-" nini responds but ricky cuts her off. "babe, just open it."

as she opens the box, she was confused upon seeing a golden key. "what's this?"

"well uh i got in usc neens."

nini was shocked and tears started to form, "wait, are you serious? so we're both attending usc?"

"yeah, i hope you don't mind." ricky chuckles. "that key is a key to my old apartment in la, and since we will both go to the same school, i thought that you would want to visit often or maybe, move in with me?"

nini immediately looked at ricky. she smiled widely and kissed him on the cheek. "yes yes yes yes! oh my god ricky! we're going to la together."

their friends cheered and congratulated them. ricky and nini couldn't wait for fall season to come. despite all the situations that happened in their relationship, they still found each other and they knew nothing will come between them.
