Chapter 24: Sunagakure vs Konohagakure

Tsubaki pov

40 . I only got to sand 40 shinobi . I'm heading to Shukaku to stop him . Garra's still here . It's Naruto all beaten up and Sasuke laying limp on a tree with Sora healing him . "Shukaku!" I yelled at him . I was mad . Mad he hurt the incarnation of his son's creator . Mad he hurt Naruto. Naruto looked at me "Get away Tsu-Chan!" I walked forward . I sighed . He tried to swing me sway but I dodged . "You don't remember me?" I asked him while looking up. He may be out of sand but I saw the surprise on his face . He kneeled down and let me pet him . "Let me seal you okay? Let the boy rest easy please...I'll visit you too." Shukaku nodded and I did the hand seals . He was back inside the jinchuriki . I ran off with that to heal the wounded and knock out the enemy .

3rd pov

Konoha has lost the Thord Hokage and many ninja . The funeral was humongous. Half of the village was there . Mostly Shinobi though . Tsubaki and Midnight were dressed in black like everyone else . Midnight was leaning on the tree behind everyone watching silently with a serious look on her face . Tsubaki was high up in a branch letting tears flow but no sound . 'I couldn't protect him either...' she thought . Whenever people that were close to her died she blamed herself . She actually still blames herself for Hashirama and Tobirama's deaths . Hikaru and Jiraiya even showed up this time .

At the elder meeting Tsubaki pov

We were debating who would become Hokage . It was either going to be Hikaru or Tsunade . "I also agree Tsunade would be a better choice . I don't think I have what it takes to be Hokage." Hikaru told me and the elders . Thankfully, Danzo wasn't an option since we still had three Sannin. "How about this ? You let me take Naruto to go and get Tsunade ? If she doesn't come back with us then Hikaru is appointed Hokage ." Jiraiya suggested to us . I nodded in agreement . It was reasonable. Hikaru looked at him glaring no to him but Jiraiya smiled and looked away . Idiot. Everyone agreed except Danzo but he doesn't matter . I was dossmissed then went home. I saw Aia in the couch with a sad look on her face with Sora next to her . Sasuke had Aia in his lap . Amaterasu was in the hospital getting treated for some wounds in the fight . "I'm sorry..." o said as I hugged them . They seemed surprised by my action but soon hugged back . "Why are you sorry?" Aia asked . I looked down . "Because I could've protected Lord Third but I didn't . I had to help everyone else except the one who really needed it...." I told them while felling a single tear make its way down my cheek . "But you protected." Sora said . I looked up at her to see her smiling softly . "You protected what he worked for. That makes his death not in vain . You made that happen." Sasuke finished for her . Aia smiles and hugged me again . Then I fell more tears fall until I was sobbing . At one point naruto came home with midnight and they hugged me too . "He was family........." I muttered out . Barely a whisper . "Everyone here is family. That's what makes us connected ." "Yeah! Believe it!" "Hn." "Yup!" "Forever." "I love you all..."
