Chapter 17: Day 9

Natsu was shaken awake, "H-huh" he yawned.

"We've arrived" He heard a voice say. He stretched his arms and legs, still laying down in their lap.

"Uh huh-" He opened his eyes and sat up. He looked back at Zeref and asked "Where are the others?" still groggy from the long trip that he slept through.

"No idea, if I had to guess I would guess in town somewhere..." He trailed off.

"I can probably sniff them out." the salmon haired one said proudly but still sounded half awake. Zeref giggled knowing well that he could.

"Yeah that's a good idea. It shouldn't be too hard, this city isn't anywhere near as large as Sigeric." Zeref explained. "It's a trading city, mostly just storage houses and shops."

"Huh? Then why is it having a festival or whatever for farmers..." Natsu asked as he was grabbing his belongings.

"Well the festival is outside the city, this is just the closest town to it." Zeref said as he was also grabbing a bag filled with belongings, of course unlike Natsus it wasn't a pillow case.

"Hmm okay then... wait then who's hosting it if not the town?" Natsu had a look of pure confusion.

"The owner of a large plantation a bit west of here." Zeref said while climbing out of the cart.

"W-wait... slaves?" Natsu asked, shock written all over his face as he sat on the edge of the cart.

"W-what!? No! Slavery is illeagal in the Empire" Zeref informed, he hated the idea of owning another person. His brothers face quickly switched to relief.

"Oh, sorry that just shocked me a bit..." He muttered as he jumped down onto the ground.

"No problem-" He said with a fake smile, he felt insulted that he would even think he'd allow slavery in his country. "Let's go find the other two."

"Oki" Natsu started sniffing the air as they walked through the streets. It only took around five minutes before he picked up their scents. "Found them!". He grabbed Zeref's wrist and started running to where it was coming from. They found them browning through a market glancing at items. Well, more like Invel was, Larcade was just following around. "Guys! Over here!" Natsu yelled as he maneuvered through the crowded street, with Zeref following close behind.

Invels eyes snapped up to see where the shout came from, his eyes settled upon the two brothers walking towards them. After they got closer Invel bowed slightly "Your highness.". Zeref muttered something about 'too formal'. "I believe It would be wise of us to find a hotel now that you've arrived."

Larcade added on "We only got into town this morning so we didn't stay at a hotel.". Zeref nodded in agreement.

"Alright, that would be wise." He agreed. "Natsu we're goi-" His eyes set upon his brother brawling with some people in the road. "Ohh for the love of Mavis...". Larcade broke out laughing at the sight. Zeref pushed through the crowd and grabbed him by the collar and dragged him away ignoring his protests. Eventually the group found a hotel after listening to Natsu complain for half an hour with Larcade arguing with him. 'Oh boy they're worse than toddlers' Zeref thought to himself as he was waiting at the front desk with Invel.

"Are you here for a room?" The employee asks.

'Nooooo I'm here to shop for groceries' Zeref thinks to himself a bit ticked off.

"Yes, we need four rooms. Singles." Invel replies.

"Oh," The employee looks at a Lacrima behind the desk, "It seems we only have three rooms left... Two singles and one with two seperate beds."
