22 | morning hug

the next day came and atsushi didn't go to school. of course, akutagawa is the same. dazai told him about the business trip for a week, but then chuuya came along, telling him he has to take care of a sick male since he dosen't know how to deal with fevers. at first, atsushi was hesitant, not so sure if he could be the best for akutagawa. though seeing the situation, akutagawa's only choice was him. he agreed on it after giving it a thought.

and now, exactly six in the morning, atsushi stood behind dazai who was tying his shoelaces on the floor, his luggage just beside him. "dazai-san, are you doing this on purpose?" the younger male suddenly questioned, fiddling with his fingers behind his back. the brunette chuckled, "of course not, silly. akutagawa always gets sick when he was a kid, but when he became an athlete, he barely gets a cold. it was just because of the rain yesterday," dazai explained, standing up as he finished doing his shoes.

atsushi nodded his head, softly humming. he parted his lips, but when he was about to say something, the doorbell chimed. the brunette smiled to the young latter, "well, that's it. i'll see you in a week," he smiled, patting atsushi's soft top. "yeah, i'll see you then."

both of them stepped out of their shared apartment, seeing a small ginger who wore a frown. dazai greeted chuuya with a hug, or more like a suffocating squeeze, saying a cheerful good morning. atsushi just stared at the scene with an awkward smile.

they're.. weird.

after a minute, osamu finally decided to let his partner go, grinning innocently as nakahara just putted on his resting bitch face, which is a normal thing. "akutagawa is still sleeping but i informed him that you're going to take care of him. he might be too bold for his own good so whatever he says or do, i'm already apologizing in advance," chuuya lazily said, not really putting a heart on the apologizing part, he even rolled his eyes. atsushi awkwardly laughed, "haha it's no problem, i can handle it."

"he might confess his love for you out of the bl-"

"right! you guys get going now, you don't want to miss your flight don't you? haha" the pale boy panicked, laughing awkwardly as he pushed the two to get going. osamu laughed, "bye, atsushi-kun!"

as they headed off, nakajima stood on the same spot, waving his hand at the elders. he sighed once they entered the elevator, dropping his arm on the side of his body. well, that was just awkward, he thought to himself, did i just panicked? was it gay panic or-

atsushi cutted mid-thought, shaking his head to remove the unnecessary thoughts. he decided to go in akutagawa's apartment, figuring out that he might be awake by now.

twisting the doorknob, atsushi stepped in, looking at his slippers because some dust was on it. he furrowed his eyebrows, closing the door from behind before bending to remove it. but before he could, some weight got putted around his shoulders. atsushi was surprised, looking up to see no other than akutagawa.

their eyes met for a split second, and the smaller male could see the other's flushed face because of his fever. a hand brushed up to the back of his head, getting pulled in one's embrace. it happened so fast that atsushi didn't know how to react. his eyes remained wide, his chin resting on akutagawa's shoulder. "aku..tagawa?" atsushi called quietly, cheeks turning light pink.

for a while, it was only silence. ryuu hugged him close as nakajima could hear his breathing and feel the warmth of his body. "are you okay?" once more, the pale boy asked and finally, he received an answer.

"yeah.. let's just stay like this for a little." akutagawa replied with a raspy voice because of the fever. atsushi smiled, nodding his head in agreement. snaking his slim arms around the other, he squeezed him lightly, closing his eyes as he embraced him.

"alright."

oh, akutagawa. you're clingy too?
