kenji and tanizaki waited alongside the school gates for akutagawa's arrival. they made a bet yesterday before they headed home. if akutagawa came to school with atsushi, tanizaki will buy kenji his lunch for a week and if akutagawa came alone, kenji would buy tanizaki's lunch for a week. the ginger was confident about this one because he believes that akutagawa has no balls to ask him after what happend in their locker room.
the small blond clicked his tongue, checking the time on his phone, "what's taking them so long?" he muttered underneath his breath, getting impatient. he looked around the crowd, hoping to spot ryuu with his boyfriend next to him. his face then beamed when he saw them from a distance, talking about something that made the both of them laugh. lips forming into a smirk, he was gladly welcoming his free lunches for the rest of the week.
"akutagawa! atsushi-kun!" the small blond cheerfully waved his hand up to the air, catching said names' attentions. tanizaki eventually reacted when he heard those names, swiftly turning around to see akutagawa with atsushi approaching them, meaning he lost to kenji.
"what are you guys doing here for?" both halted, ryuunosuke coldly asking his teammates. nakajima was a bit surprised by this because he totally forgot about this side of the taller male. akutagawa's always warm whenever they're together, making him think that he's special because he never saw akutagawa act like that to anyone else but him. atsushi's face suddenly heated up in the sudden realization. what the hell?!
"atsushi-kun, are you okay? your face is red," tanizaki's voice cutted through his thoughts making him come back to reality. nakajima blinked, noticing that everyone in their tiny circle was looking at him. "a-ah, y-yeah! i'm fine.." his voice slowly piped down, looking down at the ground. that's so embarrasing!
"so you're telling me you guys made a bet whether i come to school with atsushi or not?" akutagawa cocked a brow, repeating what kenji just explained.
"since i won, tanizaki's going to buy my lunch for a week!" kenji cheered, punching the air with his fist. tanizaki wasn't happy about it at all, leading to choking the poor blond and blaming him for coming up with a stupid bet he shouldn't have agreed to.
akutagawa glanced at atsushi who was awkwardly playing with the hem of his sleeves, "jinko, you alright? you got quiet," he quietly said so that the others won't hear them, placing his pale palm on top of the latter's shoulder. looking up to meet those deep eyes, atsushi cracked a forced smile, "i'm fine.. just not really good at socializing." without confidence, he answered.
kenji and tanizaki was secretly listening to their conversation, feeling bad for the light gray haired boy. they would just always watch him get bullied by toshi and his friends, feeling guilty everytime they wouldn't budge. well, you can't blame them either. they don't want to get beaten up. kenji genuinely wants to be friends with atsushi ever since the first time he met him, but toshi was always in the way. now that he got removed by akutagawa, they could get closer to him this time.
the small blond smiled to himself, "say, atsushi-kun.." he began, making all eyes look at him, "want to play basketball after school?"
