Chapter 5- the break down

THE NEXT DAY

I dropped Jack off at daycare before school and said goodbye and stuff.

I got to school and went to math class. I tried really hard to avoid Quinton but it didn't work very well.

Q- Hey, Is your name Lilly Smith by any chance?
L- umm, yes. I said looking down
Q- well I think you dropped this when you fell yesterday.
I took the book out of his hand and shoved it in my bag.
L- uh thanks. You didn't happen to read it did you? I said in a worried tone.
Q- Ya, I kinda read everything. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were in such a bad place.
L-...
Q- I'm sorry about my friends and my girlfriend, I didn't know they were bullying you.
L- why would you, no one ever pays attention to me.
Q- also your name sounded sort of familiar, am I supposed to know you?
L- Seriously?
Q- ya, why?
L- I've been in your class since 3rd grade when I moved here.
Q- wait actually?
L- ya, we were friends until freshman year when you started dating Cynthia.
Q- Oh...
L- I can't believe you forgot me. I looked down trying to hide the tears in my eyes.
Q- I can't believe I did too. He started to look really sad.
J- OH MY GOD SHUT THE FUCK UP. THERE'S A REASON HE FUCKING FORGOT ABOUT YOU. YOUR NOT LIKE US. JU-
L- NO IM NOT FUCKING LIKE YOU JOSH. I HAVE TO WORK FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE AND YOU JUST GET TO SIT THERE GETTING EVERYTHING YOU ASK FOR. I WORK 2 JOBS JUST TO SUPPORT ME AND MY BROTHER. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE MY DAD IS AND MY MOM IS FUCKING DEAD. NO, IM NOT LIKE YOU, I DON'T HAVE MONEY, I DON'T HAVE A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF ME AND I DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS TO GO TO. YOU AND YOUR STUPID FRIENDS MAKE MY LIFE EVEN WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS, SO BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING ELSE TO ME JUST THINK, JUST THINK FOR ONCE IN YOUR FUCKING LIFE THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS A PERFECT LIFE LIKE YOU.
*I ran out of the classroom balling my eyes out and ran to the bench that I always go to think.*

QUINTON'S POV

I can't believe I forgot she was my friend for almost 7 years.

Lilly started yelling at josh and after she ran out of the class, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE stood there in not knowing what just happened.
When Josh started speaking I honestly started getting mad, but I can't believe Lilly just said all of that in front of the ENTIRE class. Hearing the pain in her voice made me cry. I looked straight at josh and he's frozen, the only thing that had moved was the tear that rolled down his face.

Q- Ms.Baxter, can I go check on Lilly?
*She didn't say anything since she was still processing what she just heard but she just nodded.

I ran to the bench on the side of the building because she mentioned in her diary that it was where she went to think. Luckily she was there.

Q- Lilly?
She just looked at me with tears still falling down her face. I sat down next to her putting my arms around her. She just cried and cried and cried into my chest. After about 10 minutes I decided to text Josh.

Josh;)

Quin- Can you please come to the park bench on the side of the school?
Josh;)- why would I do that?
Quin- because I need to talk to you.
Josh;)- fineeeee

JOSH'S POV

After Lilly snapped at me I just stood there, I didn't know what to think or what to say. Before I knew it she was gone. Quin left to go find her and then we carried on with the class but Ms.Baxter wanted to talk to me after class. I feel bad now that she said all of that. I didn't know her life was that bad. Quin texted me telling me to go to the bench on the side of the school. Honestly I have no idea where that was but I went to find it anyways. After like 5 minutes of running around the school looking for them I finally turned the corner to see Lilly cry into Quin and quin hugging her trying to calm her down. I just stood there for a few seconds until she looked up at me.

L- w-w-what are y-you doing h-here?
J- I came to apologize to you.

I sat down on the other side of Lilly so I could talk to her.

J- Lilly, I'm so so so sorry for what I've said to you. I know that you probably won't ever forgive me I just wanted you to know that I missed having you as a friend. Also, I wanted to give you my reasoning even though I still shouldn't have done that.
Q- Lilly, I'm also sorry that I just dropped you out of nowhere. I shouldn't have done that. After me and Cyn got together she got jealous of you and told me to pick between you and her.
J- Back in 3rd grade I was jealous of you so I started to pick on you so I could feel more important I guess.
L- Thank you for telling me that josh, and thank you for calming me down Quinton.
J- What are we going to do about Cyn and Ness though?
Q- Oh, I totally forgot they were like the main source of this problem.
L- First I think we should go back to math and then after we can go to the principal since Josh has to go there anyway.
Q- that sounds like a good plan.

The three of them went back to math class and sat down like nothing ever happened. After class, you went up to Ms.Baxter and the 4 of you went to the principles office.

P- Ms.Baxter told me you guys would be coming up to my office. I want you to tell me everything that happened, but I want to hear Lilly's side first.
L- Ok.
M- alright boys come with me across the hall.

A/N I made this chapter a bit longer. If you have any suggestions as to what should happen next I would love to hear them! Also I sort of cried writing that one part. Don't ask why I'm so emotional.
