The song for this chapter is moments by one direction. Don't @me it's literally such a good song. I highly recommend. (and for once it's not lana which is a plus :)

"Hurry up Aster" Bella screeched from where she leant against the open door, suitcase in one hand and a ridiculously large sunhat in the other.

"Coming" I yelled walking out of the bathroom. The wind danced from the window caressing my skin softly and it was then that I realised how much I would miss our home for the week, how much I would miss a certain someone who was probably painting something euphoric as I thought about it.

"Let me just close all the windows and I'll be down. You go ahead" I called over my shoulder, passing Bella one of my bags as she huffed before shouldering the luggage and making her way downstairs.

"Fucking hell" I grumbled under my breath as the windows refused to close and jammed stubbornly. With a groan, I yanked the window back open, my eyes widening as I realised the reason behind the jam. Because there lay an innocent bundle of aster flowers, the multitude of colours dancing out from the wooden frame. And under them lay a note. Smiling in wonder, I picked both up and shoved them in my pocket before shutting the window with a thump and running downstairs to meet the impatient Bella.

"We're going to miss the train" She grumbled throwing me my bag. I rolled my eyes, smiling to myself at the weight of the flowers in my pocket. And with one last look, I followed Bella into the waiting car taking us to the train station.

The train jostled us side to side and I leaned my head against the carriage window observing the blur of greenery and the occasional blue of the ocean. Around an hour into the journey, when I was sure Bella had completely dozed off, I pulled the flowers and message out of my pocket, breathing in the deep scent of the aster flowers. My flowers. And Ruel had given me them, had given me my flowers. Biting my lip in contemplation, I carefully unravelled the neatly folded note.

truth is, i think i'll miss you. so, come back to me like you would if this was a movie.

Grappling  my phone with shaking hands, I pulled up the text messages between Ruel and me, all of which were my random texts left on read by an imperative Ruel.

i'm only gone for a week. i'll be back to annoy you soon don't fret xx

The message buffered for a minute before it sent. And I didn't receive a reply until we had arrived in Italy, the hot summer sun beating down on me as I pulled the text message up.

are you trying to flirt with me.

I rolled my eyes, perfectly picturing Ruel's monotonous raspy voice as if he were beside me.

have been for the past few months but thanks for noticing

I hesitated momentarily before hitting send. And then there was nothing.

Lifting my eyes from the phone screen, I realised Bella was looking at me expectantly, her eyebrows raised.

"Ruel?" She asked knowingly

I nodded quickly, pocketing my phone and focusing on the glistening water next to us.

"I heard about the kiss"

I winced, shielding my eyes from the glaring sun

"From Andre?"

Bella nodded, her eyes lit in amusement

"Has Ruel now gone and told everyone he knows ?" I grumbled as we ambled on along the walk side, the thought of everyone knowing about his rejection making my cheeks burn red in mortification.
