Lizzies POV!
Lunch was fun, and I finally talked to someone about my feelings. I was finally starting to accept that I liked Hope, but I was still scared about how other people would react... and how Hope would react. I was walking towards my dorm when I walked into someone effectively knocking over their books. I instantly bent down to help them with their books, and we bumped heads. We both fell back rubbing our heads, both laughing just a bit. I opened my mouth to apologize and instantly shut it again when I realized whose stuff I had knocked over. I could feel my cheeks reddening and I did my best to hide my face behind my hair. I mumbled a quick apology before, getting up and scrambling off. I ran into my room nearly making the door jump off of its hinges as I slammed it shut. I couldn't believe I had run into Hope and then acted so awkwardly. I closed my eyes and dropped my face into my palms. Groaning I lay on the floor and stared at the ceiling.
There was a faint knock on my door and I rolled over quickly pulling myself out of my daze. I went to open the door and was met with a short girl, with beautiful eyes. I stayed there staring at her for way too long before I tore my eyes away from here and bit my lip.
"Heyyyy, Hope!" I said with a light blush appearing on my face.
'Definitely too many "y"s' I thought to myself.
"Hi, Lizzie," Hope replied with a questioning tone.
We awkwardly stared at each other before I motioned for her to come in. She followed suit and I closed the door securely behind her leaning against the door and looking at her as her eyes wandered around the room. Her gaze paused near the beds, but I didn't notice whatever she had because I was so focused on her.
"You kinda dropped your phone," Hope said stretching her hand out with my phone on it.
My eyes widened in shock and slight embarrassment. I grabbed my phone and shivered as my fingers brushed over her hand. This didn't go unnoticed, and when I tried to pull my hand away Hope wasn't having it. She grabbed my wrist surprising me nearly causing me to fall forward. My face turned a furious shade of red and I tried to hide behind my hair. My gaze fixated on the floor, and this only served to further confuse Hope. With her grip still tight around my wrist she stepped forward and lifted my chin to make me look at her. She brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear and raised her eyebrow slightly as if trying to ask me a question without actually saying anything. She took note of the blush that was spread across my face and then finally after what felt like forever opened her mouth to speak.
"What is up with you today?" Her tone slightly stern as if she were telling me off for doing something I wasn't supposed to.
"Umm" was all I could muster to reply before a sudden movement caught my eye.
Hope followed my line of vision before turning to the bed and seeing exactly what I saw.
"Seriously you two, could this conversation move any slower?" suddenly came out from under the covers, "Josie and I are tryna cuddle in peace!"
"Penelope's right you've been staring at each other for 15 minutes," said another voice that I recognized as my sister.
"I-" Hope started but then cut herself off, "You know what, Lizzie come with me I wanna show you something, you too can go back to your cuddling..." Hope continued first addressing me and then the couple that was nestled in Josie's bed.
***
Hope had practically dragged me to a little patch of grass near the lake, her grip on my wrist still firm. I was thankful for the sudden darkness that came with the late hour since Hope wouldn't see me blush, which is something that I expected to do a lot more if this continued any further in the direction it was going.
