{ O P H E L I A  POV }

"D...Dan!"

What is he doing here?

Honestly I am happy to see him but after what happened last time when I was leaving Silverwoods, I never thought I would see him so soon.

He chuckles seeing my surprised expression and that somehow lifts a heavy burden off my shoulders. I know that's absurd but I missed him afterall.

When I smile back, there's relief in his eyes for a second before he pulls me into a tight hug.

"God I missed you so much, Li!" He says breathing into my hair.

"Me too..." I mutter, still too shocked.

A loud growl behind me makes Dan, straighten up and let me go. I don't even need to turn to see who that person might be. He must have followed me after our little arguement earlier.

"I think I've warned you already to stay away from my mate!" Nate says in an icy tone as he snakes his arm around my waist pulling me by his side. Caveman!

Though I'm still angry on him but his tightening grip makes me shut up. Dan looks at Nate's arm on my waist, an unknown expression marring his features before he shifts his eyes towards Nate.

Surprisingly Dan greets, "Prince Nathaniel! I have come in place of my father from Silverwoods pack. I haven't come here to fight I just want to be part of the charity ball." He speaks formally as if he is talking to some stranger but the way his smile does not reach his eyes gives him away.

"There's two more days for it, why come so early.." Nate grits out and I feel like smacking his head for being so rude.

"I was invited..." Dan says with a smug look.

"I would never invite you..." Nate grumbles and I roll my eyes.

"I did, Nathaniel." Says a gruff powerful voice and Nate immediately lets me go.

"Alpha king!" We greet in unison.

"Daniel, it's a shame your father couldn't join us, I would like to personally thank him someday for helping out Nathaniel while he was in your pack." He says and Daniel smiles.

"It was an honour to meet Prince Nathaniel, alpha king. I hope he enjoyed his stay." Daniel smiles and Nate scoffs. Can't Nate atleast go with the flow and smile in front of alpha king?

"Ophelia?"

"Yes, alpha!"

"Since you know each other well, why don't you show Daniel around." He says and I nod.

"And I would like to have a word with you, Nathaniel. Meet me in my office."

Nate sighs before nodding his head. Alpha king pats Dan's shoulder before he walks towards his office.

Alpha king is always so distant, I sometimes forget he is Nate's father. I have never seen Nate and alpha king interacting like a father and a son should. Now that I remember I haven't heard Nate calling alpha as father or dad even once since I came here.

Suddenly Nate holds my arm and turns me towards him. When I see him smiling I narrow my eyes.

Why the sudden change? I'm sure he is bipolar!

"What's wrong with..." Before I could finish he kisses me on my cheek making me freeze. He then whispers his lips touching my earlobes,
"We shall continue what we left off...later..."

"What?" I ask dumbfounded.

"The conversation where you ran mid way..." He smiles straightening up, before I could come up with a rude remark he turns towards Dan.
