Mateo's pov:
We just arrived home and my wings still hadn't gone away yet.
"Boys, what are you- Mateo you know your wings are out?" Charles asked while walking towards us.
Princeton said, "Crazy stuff happened at school today-"
"Get this, get this! Prince lit a board on fire and when everyone tried evacuating the room, he held the door shut!" Jackson exclaimed, cutting him off.
Charles looked at him with wide eyes and put his hands on his hips.
"Young man-" he began saying.
Jackson interrupted, "I'm not done, let me finish, this is the worst part."
"So since the smoke in the air was too much, he made Vincent, Minnie, and Crystal pass out!!"
"Finally, I sent a shock to him, to make him stop, then we took them to the clinic!"
Princeton put his head down, embarrassed, and muttered, "Sorry.."
"What has gotten into you?? This was your second day back and you did this?!" Charles yelled.
Jackson laughed out, "And you know what this dumbass named Mateo did?! He let his wings out for everyone to see."
"I didn't do it on purpose-" I tried to explain but Charles cut me off.
He shouted, "You too, really?? Oh, my head is killing me now," then rubbed his forehead.
I explained, "When I saw Min-Jun get slapped by these mean girls, they just popped out."
"I was trying to put them away but they wouldn't go back in."
"Plus, everyone was distracted by what the mean girls were doing to Minnie, Vincent and Crystal so I'm still "human" to them."
Charles then asked, "Wait after you saw Min-Jun get hit, they popped out," as he removed his hands from his head, slowly.
I nodded and then Charles looked at Prince and asked, "So when something happened to Crystal, the same thing happened to you?"
"Yeah why?" Prince questioned.
Charles gulped nervously, "No reason.. uhm Mateo go to Levi, he can fix that."
I nodded and was about to walk away until I heard, "Oh and after, meet me in the living room. I'll be waiting for you there with Princeton." Charles informed.
Prince and I sighed so I slowly walked over to Levi.
He was reading quietly until he noticed me staring at him. He looked over at me so I asked, "Hey Levi so I need your help with my wings, can-"
"I know already, Charles told me, telepathically." Levi stated, cutting me off.
I nodded so he continued, "Come here and let me help you."
I walked over to him and he poked my spin causing my wings to go away.
I turned around while asking, "Seriously, that's all you needed to do?!"
He laughed while nodding. I rolled my eyes and sucked my teeth then walked over to the living room, ready to get scolded by Charles.
Princeton was sitting on a couch, nibbling on a cookie, while Charles was drinking some tea. I sat down beside Prince then Charles offered, "Here, have a cookie," while holding a plate of cookies towards me.
I nodded and took a cookie. "Mmm, this is really good." I told Charles.
He smiled and said, "Thanks, It's a cookie that makes you tell the truth!"
