Jay walked out from his bedroom into the living area from taking a shower, to stop and smile at his saw Olivia handing Marco a bowl of cereal, as he played with his cars along the dining table. He knew this was something he'd never get tired of seeing in the morning.
"Hey, I made you some breakfast," Olivia smiled, nothing more happened than a kiss last night, neither of them wanted to take it too far yet, it was still fresh all of this and they didn't want to rush into anything new.
"Thank you," Jay kissed the top of Olivia's head as he walked past, and sat at the table next to his son.
"Hey Jay, can we go to the park today?" Marco asked his father.
Jay's heart melted a little inside as Marco spoke to him, it hurt him to say what he was about to say, "I'm sorry buddy, I've got to work, what if we go later? I'll make it up to you."
Marco's smile dropped but soon picked back up, "okay Jay," he said before running off into the play corner Jay had set up for him and then Marco started to play with his toys.
"About last night Jay," Olivia started but was interrupted by Jay.
"Liv, I'm glad it happened," he smiled, he woke up feeling different today, and he wasn't sure why. He had a thought it was to do with the kiss they had shared last night.
"So what can I do today?" Olivia laughed, she knew she was under house arrest until it was safe for her to even go to the shop, however she didn't want to look over her shoulder for the rest of her life.
"Anything that won't put you in danger," Jay laughed back.
"So nothing?"
"Nothing," Jay continued to laugh.
"Well I'm going to search for some nice apartments, I'm not too sure on your taste," Olivia smirked.
Jay raised his eyebrows, "you're telling me this place isn't nice?" he asked as he held his arms open, looking around his apartment.
"Well our next apartment will be nice for all three of us," Olivia smiled, causing Jay to smile too. The thought of all three of them living together sat well with Jay, he missed Erin dearly, but he knew it was best for everyone that Erin moved on, and he could see himself moving on with Olivia and Marco too.

The day was full of document filing, finishing off reports, and Adam's bad jokes. Jay was very happy to return home to his family, with another toy car in his hand to give to Marco to apologise for not being there to take him out today. However as he walked down the hallway to his apartment, he saw his front door slightly opened.
Pulling out his gun, he slowly approached and pushed it open, only to find his apartment trashed. Slowly clearing the kitchen and living area while putting the toy car on the side, with no sign of either Olivia or Marco, he edged towards his bedroom, haulting as he noticed drops of blood on the floor.
Taking a deep breath, he entered to find Olivia passed out on the floor by his bedside. Rushing over to her side, he was thankful she was breathing and alive, "Liv, stay with me!" Jay asked, shaking her to wake her up.
Slowly opening her eyes, she grabbed onto Jay's arm, "Jay." And with that her eyes closed again.
Jay grabbed his radio and called for help, first for an ambulance, and then Voight, he ensured Olivia stayed alive until the crew arrived to take her to Med.
Voight and Alvin arrived as the ambulance loaded Olivia up.
"She's alive, broken nose, but apart from that she should be okay," Jay told Hank and Alvin, who both nodded.
"Look Jay, there's something you need to know," Hank said to his detective, ushering him to follow him back into his apartment to talk privately before the forenesic's turned up. "It's Jimenez, he escaped from his transport a few hours ago."
"And you're only just telling me now?!" Jay shouted, punching the wall next to him, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Jay you need to calm down!" Voight shouted back, as it caused a few heads already in his apartment to turn and stare at the three of them.
"Calm down?" Jay laughed back, "you tell me to calm down after Olivia has been attacked again and my son, Marco is missing?!"
"We need to keep this in house Jay if you want it done correctly this time," Alvin spoke to the detective, as he tried to calm him down. They've all been in a position like this before, Hank lost his son, and Alvin lost his daughter but they knew they weren't about to lose another member of their family.
Jay had calmed down by the time the rest of the team had arrived, the forenesic's were doing their job in Jay's apartment, and with the building desk manager comfirming it was Raul Jimenez who had entered the apartment building, the team knew they only had a short about of time before he disappeared with Marco to Mexico, meaning Jay and Olivia would've lost their son for good.
After hearing news that Olivia was awake and talking, Jay and Alvin headed to Med to check in on her and take a statement.
"Are you okay?" Jay ran into the room, grabbing Olivia's hand.
"I'm okay Jay, where's Marco?" Olivia asked, looking behind and around the room for her little son.
"Liv-," Jay started but couldn't find the words to tell her, instead he looked at Alvin who nodded.
"Olivia, Marco's missing, he wasn't found in the apartment when Jay got home," Alvin said gently.
Olivia started to well-up and tears formed in her eyes, "it was Raul Jay, he burst his way through the door, and as soon as Marco saw him, he ran over to him. I tried to fight him off, but he knocked me out cold, and then I woke up here."
Jay comforted the mother of his child as best as he could, but he wanted to get back out there and find his son, and kill Raul Jimenez once and for all.
"Please bring him home safe Jay," Olivia cried into Halstead's shoulder as he stroked her hair.
"I will Liv, I promise to bring him home safe so we can finally be a family," Jay kissed her forehead before leaving with Alvin.

"So what do we have?" Hank demanded from his team some answers already, they were on a limited amount of time.
"We know Raul left with Marco in this silver Audi, as on the CCTV from Jay's apartment building," Ruzek told the team as Jay walked in with Alvin, causing the team's attention to switch to Jay's direction.
"Olivia's okay guys, tell me we have something," Jay sounded desperate, he couldn't bare the thought of Marco being filled with more lies about him and his mother from Raul.
"Well, we tracked the car to this house in Bridgeport, known to be a stash house for the Jimenez Cartel," Antonio continued.
"We have a patrol unit sitting on the house right now, the Audi is parked right outside it, hasn't moved since patrol got there half an hour ago," Ruzek informed his team.
"Okay, gear up. We move in darkness, I want everyone in blackout clothes, we need this done quietly. We need to move fast, a lot of agencies are sitting on this case right now, we can't let them know we have Raul after capture. This is an in-house operation, this time we'll deal with Raul the right way," Hank spoke to his team, more-so looking towards Jay's direction.
"Boss what do we say if shots are fired?" Adam asked.
"As soon as we have Raul in custody, you pass him off to me or Alvin and we'll go from there. If anyone asks, this is purely a stash house raid, following up from the capture of Gerard Roberto a few nights ago. If nobody is happy with that idea, they should hang back here until it's over and done with," Hank continued to inform his team of his plan, this time looking into the direction of Dawson, who was always hesitant towards these types of operations.
But Hank didn't care, he couldn't let a criminal like Raul Jimenez continue to cause havoc and pain for his team and family. He thought of Olivia as one of his own, meaning Marco was also one of his own, like a grandson to him. Voight would do anything to protect his unit, and his detectives within it, he knew this time Raul wasn't coming back alive.
