Beck's POV:
Rage thundered through me as not one of my "men" responded to me. I began to recall what Logan had said about all of them "having their fair share of fun with her". I wanted to kill each and everyone of them. I swear to God if they took advantage of my mate, if they forced themselves on her they would not see the light of day. As I brooded about this, it built up and I snapped.
A guard asked me what I meant. How dare he?! How dare he question me?! I have a right to inquire about my mate's treatment! "I MEAN WHY THE HELL IS MY MATE CHAINED TO A WALL, SHAKING, HALF-NAKED AND COVERED IN CUTS AND BRUISES!" I roared, and heard a faint whimper from my mate. I winced but continued.
"I-I..I'm sorry Alpha, we didn't know she was your mate..." Logan mumbled. I felt another wave of anger rip through me and I felt my nails begin to draw blood from my palms, where I had clenched my fists. Did they think that their ignorance, excused their disgusting behavior??
"DO YOU THINK THAT MAKES ANY OF THIS BETTER? HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT MY MATE AND YOUR LUNA!" I immeddiately felt all my men's anxiety sky rocket. I could no longer stand the sight of them and knew that they had to be punished. At this point, I just wanted to be with my mate and I sentenced them to house arrest and forwarned them that their punishments would be delivered once thier crimes had been investigated. They filed out and I couldn't help but glare at them as they left.
I turned to my mte and saw she had shied away from me, and was trembling still. I was still shaking with fury and tried to steady my breaths. I wasn't sure how to approach her. I didn't want to spook her, but I had to see her face.
"Hey there, it's alright" I tried to keep my voice softer and reached to touch her, but she shrank from my touch. I kept truing to comfort her with soothing words and coax her into looking at me. When she finally did, I sharply sucked in a breath. My mate was stunning. I sat there speechless. She gazed at me with pale silver eyes. Fear was the most prominent emotion, in her moon-like orbs. I instantly felt guilty, she was afraid, and it was my fault. I hadn't been there to stop this.
"Oh sweetheart, I'm so, so sorry this happened to you," I apologized.and wiped her tears from her eyes. I felt sparks jump through my skin and smiled when she relaxed and leaned into our contact. I vaguely remembered Will still being in the room and asked him to go get me a water bottle and bring the first aid kit to my room, but I couldn't bring myself to tear my eyes from her face. I unlocked her wrist from the iron cuff, and introduced myself. It felt silly, I felt like I had known her for years. I felt fear flood her body and tried my best to calm her down. I knew of our reputation, and I really didn't want her to fear me. She whimpered and the sound cut through me like a knife.
She finally told me her name, Alexia, so incredibly beautiful. It fit her perfectly. Alexia. My Alexia. Will came back with the water bottle, and her eyes flew to it hungrily. She shivered a bit, and it was only then that I realized that she was only in a sports bra and shorts. I reached up to pull my t-shirt off for her, and i froze instantly recognizing the blatant terror in her eyes. She tried scooting away from me, shaking her head and whimpering softly. Oh no, God no. That's not what I meant. Why.., Jesus what had she been through? I calmed her down again and pulled the shirt over her head.
I opened the bottle of water and pressed it to her lips. She tried to down it quickly, but I knew she would get sick. When was the last time she had as much water as she pleased? My heart clenched and she slowed down. I smiled and encouraged her softly.
She finished her water and looked nervous. It was then that I heard her sweet, soft voice.
"Beck?" I couldn't help but smile.
"Yes?"
"You said I'm your mate? Is that true?" she asked nervously.
"Yes Alexia, I'm your mate,"
"B-but what does that mean?" My mouth fell open. She didn't know what a mate was. How could she not about mates?? This was going to be a difficult conversation. Typically, wolf mothers made sure their daughters knew about what was in store for them. If not their mothers, then their fathers. Alexia told me her father her had told her she would find a mate but didn't explain it to her. I promised to fill her in on anything, but what I really wanted was to take a look at her injuries and patch her up.
She was walking fine on her own, until she had gotten about halfway down the hallway of cells. I scooped her into my arms and started walking, but as we reached the stairs she grew pale. I set her down quickly and she told me she was fine. We started up tthe stairs again, she tensed and i could feel her nervousness again. I looked down and tried to reassure her that she was safe, but she told me it was the people upstairs that was frightening her. My eyes widened and I quickly mind-linked the pack telling them to clear the hallways for the next hour. I brought her upstairs and watched as she stared in awe at the expanse around her.
We finally got to my quarters, and I set her on my bed. I got busy grabbing clothes for her to wear and starting up the shower. I led her over to the bathroom and waited until I could hear the water hitting against her skin. I mindlinked Will and told him to meet me in my office. I sat in my desk and drummed my fingers on the desk, waiting for him to show up. When he finally walked in, I nodded at him to sit down.
"Alpha-" He began.
"I need to know, Will," I interrupted, "You're my best friend and my beta. Were you apart of this in any way?"
"No Alpha," he siad bowing his head.
"Did you know about this?"
"No Beck, I didn't know and if I had I would have stopped it immediately." he replied.
"Thank you Will, you may go." I said nodding at him.
He left and I returned to my room and saw that Alexia was still in the shower. I laid out on my bed and closed my eyes. I heard my phone ring, and I pulled it out of my pocket. I glanced down to see a text from Gianna.
'Hey babe, I'm sorry about our fight. Can we please make up? See you tonight?'
God, this chick will be the death of me! I already told her I didn't want a mate! Wait, was that still true? I wasn't so sure anymore. I honestly couldn't see life without Alexia. I didn't have anymore time to think about it, because when I glanced up and saw Alexia standing in the doorway, in my clothes. She looked so adorable. I got up and led her over to the bed. She looked nervous when I asked if I could take a look at her injuries and when she nodded I opened the first aid kit and set to work. Her injuries were extensive and every so often she would wince whenever I touched a cut or bruise. It boiled my blood and only made me want to punish my men even more. I finished up and threw away the trash. I smiled at her and brushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear. Oh Alexia, what are you doing to me?
"I think you should get some rest. We can talk more when you wake up. I'll be right over here at this desk, ok?" When she nodded in response, I helped her up and pulled back the covers and tucked her in. Her breathing quickly evened out and I heard her snore softly. I chuckled and walked over to my desk to take care of some pack business from when I was away. I had never felt so content, just sitting in my own room, until my mate showed up and changed everything.
