I ran as fast as I possibly could, my lungs burning intently from exhaustion making my chest ache with every breath I took.

I turned around to the see men still chasing after me, I tried making quick turns but either way they wouldn't get lost. I didn't know how I had gotten in this situation in the first place, I just wanted food and they never specified the price. Maybe I had made a mistake, but right now I really didn't care I was just focused on the extrushiating pain that laid in my chest, maing tears start to swell up in the corner of my eyes.

Shit, what am I gonna do now? My lungs can't take much more.

I coudln't help but feel a tad bit more scared by these men as I grew weak, I wouldn't have been able to fight back, I'd be dead.

Without noticing, I used up the last bit of strength and threw myself inside of someone's house hoping they wouldn't kick me right back out. I quickly got up as I had been putting my weight on my arms and knees as I caught my breath, on the verge of passing out from lack of oxygen and pain. I was caught by surprise when I heard a loud shriek from behind me. I quickly turned around and saw a girl, she had red hair and green eyes with a tad of brown, she seemed around my age but I couldn't exactly tell.

My eyes widened when I heard footsteps approaching the front door, I tensed up and quickly ran up to the girl giving her a desperate look hoping she'd help, but it was too late. I heard the door slam open from behind me and I closed my eyes waiting for what I had coming since I stole that stupid piece of bread. However to my surprise the door opened and I wasn't beaten, stabbed, or anything of the sort.

I slowly released the grip I had on the girl's shoulder without glancing at her again. I was thinking on whether I should turn around and make a run for it, but the sharp pain that shot through my chest reminded me I wouldn't be able to do it. I sighed trying my best to hold in the tears from the pain and started to turn around.

This is it. God why'd I have to be so stupid.

As I turned my heel to where the door was I slowly lifted up my head, targetting my sight on the two men who stood in front of me. To my benefit, these men weren't the ones chasing me, they were fit and young, the other ones were old and pig like. One of them had raven like hair, accompanied with sharp grey eyes. The other one had a dirty blonde aspect to his hair with bright blue eyes, he seemed to be the gentle one from the gazes I was recieving.

I took a deep breath in, making the tears I was trying to hard to hold in jump out of my eyes and onto my cheeks. I took my head and hung it back down while I made my way to where the door was, trying my best to ignore the men. I wasn't going to make it out there, but these are strangers, this is the underground, no one cares.

As I approached the men, I was able to get through the space that was in between them when I suddenly felt a firm grip on my hand. I didn't bother to look up, I just held my hand limp and waited for whatever he was going to do. Once again, to my surprise he firmly pulled me back, closing the door behind him with his feet.

"Oi, you really think you can burst into our house and think you can leave without an explanation?"

He had a cold, expressionless tone as he asked me, not a hint of human in him.

Yes actually, that was my plan, but I don't see you as the type to let that go through.

I chuckled as my own thought, I could be funny sometimes, but always on the worst situations. I didn't say anything, there wasn't anything for me to say.

"Brat I aske-"

The man was cut off by a soft, but manly voice,

"Levi, go easy on her, she's shaken up."
