"You could have at least stuck up for me," Keefe told Sophie with a laugh as he drove them both to school.

Fitz hadn't texted Sophie good morning like he usually did, so she figured that he wasn't going to come pick her up. Keefe had offered to take them both to school, and Sophie didn't see why not.

"Well, first of all," Sophie started. "Ro looked like she wanted to kill me—and I really don't want to die at only fifteen years old." They both laughed, but Sophie wasn't done. "Second of all, how on earth did you even get into my room?"

Keefe gave her a sly smirk, causing her to punch him in the arm. "Ow!" He said rubbing his shoulder with the hand that wasn't on the wheel. "Whoever came up with the saying, 'you punch like a girl' should be drawn and quartered."

Sophie laughed. "Answer my question Keefe!"

Keefe rolled his eyes, but a smile was still on his face as he said, "I took a rock-climbing class when I was younger—and your house has tons of foot-hole-like indentions."

Sophie's mouth fell open. "You climbed my house?!"

Keefe laughed. "Of course—what kind of person wouldn't?"

Sophie rubbed her temples just as they pulled into the school parking lot. "A sane person,"

"Ah, but I'm very much not sane," He said with a wink.

Sophie shook her head. "Yes, I know,"

"I know you know—because you're not sane either," He said as they both got out of the truck. "Miss Foster the emo-kid-vampire-with-no-discernible-personality,"

Sophie found her face turn a bright shade of red as she tried to hide behind her hair. "Keefe, i-it's weird when you say it,"

Keefe shrugged before nodding to the school. "Are you ready to face another school day?"

Sophie smiled. "I'm always ready,"

Keefe grinned at her as they both walked through the doors of Foxfire—but Sophie felt someone grab her arm and run away with her into the crowd of students.

Sophie looked up and saw Biana gripping her arm. "What in the world is going on?"

Biana sighed as she dragged Sophie into the girls bathroom. "This," She took out her phone and pointed to a screenshot of two people texting.

"Okay...?" Sophie said, not really understanding. "...who're you stalking?"

Biana let out an exasperated sigh as she rolled her eyes. She tapped on her phone a couple of times before pulling up a text conversation between Fitz and Biana. "Fitz sent me this screenshot last night as he was about to go to bed. It was from yours and his conversation."

Sophie was confused as she took Biana's phone and read over the conversation. It was definitely their conversation, but after Fitz's "TTYL! Love you!" text, Sophie's text said something she knew she hadn't sent.

"Biana, I never told Fitz that I hated him," Sophie said, handing her back her phone. "I can prove it,"

Sophie pulled out her phone and tried to find their conversation last night—but instead of proving herself innocent, the text read: I hate you.

Sophie shoved her phone back into her pocket. "Biana, I swear on flying tacos that I didn't tell Fitz 'I hate you'. You know how much I like Fitz,"
