"Sophie! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"

Sophie's eyes flitted open as she yawned before she saw Biana leaning over her with a wide grin on her face. "It's Christmas Eve!"

"What time is it?" Sophie groaned, noticing that the lights were still out and the windows did not bring any brightness into the room what-so-ever.

"It's seven-thirty," Biana said with a giggle. "I woke up only a minute ago. I think we should go downstairs first and start making those cookies."

"Wait," Sophie said. "Isn't that like cheating?"

Biana shrugged. "Kind of—but don't you want to surprise them?"

Sophie let out a long sigh before getting up and following Biana down the stairs and into the foyer.

The two of them were about to go into the kitchen and start working on those cookies, until they saw a faint light coming from the living room.

The two of them shared a look before slowly creeping into the living room.

For some reason, Sophie expected to see some sort of scary monster, but instead the triplets were sitting on the couch, each with a flashlight, and staring at Biana and Sophie as they walked in.

"It's nice for you to join us," Rex said with a smile. "Please, take a seat."

Sophie and Biana shared another look before taking a seat on the couch across from the triplets.

It was really quiet, with the triplets just staring at them, until Sophie broke the silence by saying, "So, what're you three doing up so early?"

"We could ask you the same question," Bex said through beady eyes.

"Um...is this some sort of weird Christmas Eve morning ritual or something?" Biana asked, sounding a little terrified. "Cuz it's a little creepy..."

"No. They do this every Christmas Eve morning to creep out the first people downstairs. It works every year."

Sophie and Biana turned around to see Dex and a sleepy Fitz enter the room.

"You're no fun," Lex said, crossing his arms over his chest.

Dex rolled his eyes before turning on the lights and causing the triplets to vanish into the darkness.

"I swear they're vampires," He grumbled as he sat down on one of the recliners. Then he looked at Sophie and Biana. "Why'd you two get up so early?"

"We wanted to get an early start on those cookies," Sophie said, with a small shrug. "But the triplets distracted us."

Dex nodded, doing his best to get out of the chair. "Then let's start, shall we?"

Sophie and Biana smiled at each other before the four of them headed into the kitchen to start making cookies.

"Wow," Juline said as she and Kesler walked into the kitchen around nine-thirty in the morning. "How long have you all been making cookies?"

Fitz yawned. "About two hours,"

Juline blinked in surprise. "Well, they smell really good."

"Thanks," The four of them droned.

Sophie had been put in charge of cookie-cutting since she couldn't bake, Biana and Fitz were in charge of making the dough, and Dex was the decorator.

After hours upon hours of making cookies, they'd finally decided 500 was enough and set them all in the fridge until later that day.

"What's next?" Sophie asked through a yawn.

"Food!" Fitz demanded, sounding as tired as Sophie felt.

"Yeah," Biana said with a nod. "It's time to eat,"

Juline smiled at them. "Well, Kesler and I will start making some pancakes and we'll get you when we're done."

"Great," Dex said with a nod. "I'm going back to sleep,"

"Me too," Fitz said.

Sophie smiled. "Me three,"

"Aw, but I'm not tired," Biana complained.

"You could always hang out with us!" Lex and Rex called from the living room.

"Never mind," Biana said, walking upstairs with Sophie. "I'm super tired,"

"We overslept!" Biana announced, waking up the three of them. "It's one in the afternoon!"

Sophie shot up and jumped out of bed. She'd only slept that late a few times in her life, and it was only because she'd been sick.

"Why didn't anyone set an alarm?" Fitz groaned as he got out of bed.

"I went to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow," Dex said with a shrug.

"Same," Sophie said through a yawn.

"Well," Biana said once everyone had woken and cleaned up. "I guess we'll be eating those pancakes for lunch."

"That actually sounds good," Fitz said with a small smile. "Plus, we need to help fix dinner for tonight."

"Well, let's start cooking then," Dex said, stretching out his arms before walking down the stairs—everyone following behind him.

When they got downstairs, they all heated up the blueberry pancakes Dex's parents had made before Juline put them to work in the kitchen.

Juline told the triplets to work on setting out the rolls and all the drinks while she and Biana started to make all the desserts. Kesler and Dex made the Mac N' Cheese and mashed potatoes, and Sophie and Fitz made the salad and the cranberry sauce.

It took them three hours to make everything—plus to set the table—so now it was time to eat dinner. They brought the food to the table and sat down.

The conversations ranged from Christmas to school, Six Flags to presents, and food to whether or not dragons were alive once. It was crazy, but super fun.

After they'd all finished eating, they grabbed the cookies and drove around town, passing them out to different people walking down the street.

When they were done, and driving back to the house, they drove by all the houses with beautiful lights.

Sophie smiled at each one as they drove by. "This really is the most wonderful time of the year."

Wow....this one was SHORT.
