After an hour of waiting for Dex to feel better, the two of them rode rides that were a little more mellow. Sophie still had fun, and Dex had fun too, so it was a win-win.

They wanted to ride more rides, but sadly, it was already 4:30 so they started heading back toward the gate.

"So...you go here every other year, right?" Sophie asked.

Dex nodded as they sat down and waited for the rest of Dex's family. "Yep,"

"...and you've never rode the Goliath?" Sophie asked.

Dex bit his lip. "I did one year," He told her. "I was ten years old and it was the first time I could ride it because of my height. The same thing that happened today, happened that day. I thought I could handle it because I was older, but..."

Sophie opened her mouth to say something, but stopped herself when she spotted Kesler, Juline, and the triplets. "There they are,"

"Don't you have all those Fanta's back at the hotel?" Juline asked Dex, pointing to his Sprite bottle.

Dex bit his lip, but Sophie answered for him. "One of the ride's was a little too much for Dex, so I got him a Sprite."

"Was it Goliath?" Kesler asked, tilting his head.

"Yes,"

Kesler grinned before holding out his hand to Juline. "You owe me twenty bucks,"

The triplets burst into laughter, and Dex's face turned a bright shade of pink. Sophie bit her lip—trying not to laugh—before putting her hand on Dex's shoulder.

Juline rolled her eyes at her husband before saying, "I'll give it to you when we get to the hotel."

Kesler snickered before they all left the amusement park and got into the car before driving back to the hotel.

"Rex, stop doing that!" Dex told Rex, because he wouldn't stop clicking a pen that he'd brought for the trip.

"'Rex, stop doing that!'" Bex repeated in an annoying baby voice.

"Has anyone seen Lex?" Juline shouted over all the chaos.

At the moment, Sophie was sitting down on the floor, waiting for Kesler to come back with earmuffs.

"He's in the bathroom," Dex told his mom, trying to grab the pen from Rex.

"'He's in the bathroom'," Bex mimicked him again in the same, annoying voice.

"Ugh!—Bex, can you not be annoying for once in your life?" Dex asked, finally grabbing hold of the pen.

Bex rolled her eyes. "Dex, how about you stop being so bossy for once in your life?" She flipped her hair before walking over to Juline.

Dex flopped on the floor next to Sophie and whispered, "You're lucky you don't have siblings,"

Sophie laughed. "I think hanging out with Keefe is the equivalent to having siblings,"

They both laughed at that, and Sophie was surprised that she hadn't felt immediately upset after thinking about the blond boy. After all, she wasn't really mad at him—she had just been really angry at Fitz, so she pushed some of her anger out on him.

Dex had been right. This trip would be super good for her to relax and reflect about everything that had happened.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Kesler was there with four pairs of earmuffs and two boxes of Pizza.
