It was Tuesday morning and my phone was ringing so very loudly, "hello."
"Wanna get breakfast?" I pulled the phone back and looked at the screen, it's not a number I recognize.
"Are you sure you have the right number?" I heard him chuckle and felt a bolt of excitement rush through me.
"This is Louis right?"
"Yeah." He laughed again.
"Then yeah." He was quiet waiting for my answer. "So... Breakfast?"
"Where?" I asked.
"Nice little joint called McDonald's." I smiled.
"Okay."
There wasn't a lot of people so we ate inside, at a little table in the corner. He was laughing when I couldn't help but think how cute he looks, sitting there. His eyes closed from him laughing so hard and him leaning forward hand on his hip.
"Okay I got one."
"Shoot." I stuck some fries in my mouth.
"Why didn't the lifeguard save the hippy?" I thought and thought, he sat there with this massive grin on his face.
"Uhm I don't know."
"Cause he was too far out man!" I laughed, it was funny but I may have maybe over dramatized my laugh.
"That was good." He smiled and took a bite out of his biscuit, egg, and sausage.
"When I said breakfast I thought you might order breakfast food."
"I'm not to fond of their breakfast." He smiles and looks down at his food.
"So there's this movie coming out Saturday and I thought that maybe you'd wan-"
"Yeah." I hadn't realized I had cut him off and sounded so desperate. "Sorry." He laughed and shook his head.
"It's quite alright."
"What movie is it?" He looked taken a back and started kind of mumbling.
"Uhm- it's the one with... That actress who play in-"
"You don't know what movie we're seeing?" He sighs and I see his cheeks redden.
"I honestly didn't think you'd say yes."
"What? Why?"He shrugged,"C'mon now,tell me."
"I just thought you'd be one of those guys that wouldn't mind being my friend as long as we're around other straight guys." He looked at me, "does that make sense?"
I looked at him, here he was looking tough and careless. But he was this guy who cared so much about what people thought and he played with random fucking babies for Christ sake. At this moment I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather spend my Tuesday mornings with or my Saturday nights.
He was still looking at me waiting for a reply, "I'm not that kind of person."
"I know that now." He said laughing.
