we are the bacteria,
we strip away our bodies and give into illness, and sometimes we hope that sickness will succumb us so we don't have to succumb ourselves.

we are gnawing on our own bones and eating our own organs because our stomachs are empty,
and all we want is to fill the empty void with something substantial,
even if that means digesting our hearts like meat and abandoning all the emotions we've grown tired of.

we peel off our own bruised skin and we give it to the people we think need it more than we do.

most of us are selfish but some of us are selfless,
and if we end up a martyr just to save a tiny particle of the world
(maybe just an imperfect human or two)
we will do it.

we are human nature,
dying is human nature,
and getting eaten by bacteria is human nature, like it or not.
