{ Chapter 5 }

{  Maya's First Disney Villain Encounter/The Mysterious Island Natives  }

After Maya's inflated bed was cleaned, the sheet and the blanket were placed back on, then Sam and Maya change into their swimsuit bikinis and head into the jungle.

Maya and Sam have been walking through the jungle for six hours, night time has arrived, but they still looked for the river.

Then, at last, they found the paradise location.

"Okay— We're here," said Sam.

"Wow! This is the river?" Maya asked in awe.

"Yup, this is it," Sam replied with a smile. "Race ya to the rock-island!" Sam dives into the large, fresh, crystal clear river first and swims towards the small rock-island in the middle of it.

"Hey! No fair! I'm holding our stuff!" said Maya as she goes into the river next, carrying the picnic basket and towels above her head while swim-chasing after Sam.

The girls reach the small rock-island and climb onto it. Sam slowed down a little and allows Maya to win before helping her out.

"Sorry, my excitement got the better of me. I almost forgot we brought our food with us," said Sam.

"Well— We aren't gonna make it back for lunch. So, we might as well have our own dinner while swimming here." Maya replied. "By the way, this river is amazing. It feels so good on my body."

"I know, it's like all the stress' weight pressure has washed away the moment we touched the water..." said Sam.

"Yeah... So, you wanna swim around a little before we eat?" Maya asked.

"I was thinking exactly the same thing..." Sam replied as she winked at Maya.

Sam returns into the water and gracefully swims within it. Maya leaves the picnic basket on the rock-island as she follows her friend.

Little did the girls know, they were being watched by little native furry creatures, hiding in the bushes. They have never seen these humans on their island before, so they are very curious why the two female humans are doing in their territory.

However, they weren't the only ones spying on Maya and Sam.

Down further up the river, beautiful female merfolk creatures were watching the two human girls swimming in their river territory and they have a sinister plan to catch their prey.

Meanwhile, Maya enjoys swimming in the river, it almost feels familiar, as if she's home. Strange, she doesn't remember when she last swam in a river before she ran away from her old life. Her mother was always a cruel strict control freak, so Maya barely played outside when she was a kid.

Maya suddenly brushed off the bad memories and continued swimming.

Later, Maya and Sam returned to the small rock-island and started eating.

"Mmmm— These fruits are delicious, Sam. You and Kevin picked the best ones," said Maya before taking another bite of the pinkish red fruit.

"Thanks— Glad you love them," Sam replied before she took a bite of a plump juicy blue fruit.

Sam suddenly felt strange and dropped the blue fruit in the river. Maya noticed and becomes worried.

"Hey, you alright?" Maya asked in concern.

"I don't know... I~" Sam looked up and gazed upon two mermaids that are approaching them. One has beautiful emerald green color eyes, long black raven hair, pale-pink skin, and a colorful red phoenix shade mertail. The second mermaid has lovely pink rose quartz color eyes, long snow white hair, pale moonlight skin, and a gorgeous light teal blue mertail.
