THE NEXT DAY

Toni woke up with a yawn, stretching out her limbs.

She put on her glasses, getting up to get ready for school.

She wear a white sweater, skinny jeans, and slip on vans.

She did her hair in her usual half-up-half-down style, then retired downstairs with her back pack and phone.

"Morning, T." Her dad greeted.

"Morning dad, where's mom?" She asked, sitting at the counter.

"She isn't feeling well today, so she's resting." He explained.

"Oh, Tell her I hope she feels better," Toni said, grabbing a granola bar.

"Will do." He smiled. "So, Where did you sneak off too last night?" He asked, smirking.

Toni cleared her throat, "Uh, just went to get some air. The test I was studying for kinda got me a bit upset." Toni lied.

"Oh, Okay." He nodded.

Toni checked the time on her phone, "Later, Dad." She kissed his cheek before leaving out.

"Did you study?" Veronica asked Cheryl.

"Nah, I was busy. But I'll ace it either way." Cheryl nodded.

"What was more important than you studying for a test?" Betty raised her blonde eyebrow.

Cheryl smirked, "Mmm, Something."

Toni entered the student lounge, sitting beside Betty.

"Hey, guys." Toni smiled, pushing her glasses up.

"I'm guessing you got to sleep last night?" Betty asked.

"Mhmm." Toni hummed in response.

"Wait a damn minute..." Veronica said, looking between Cheryl and Toni.

"Cheryl didn't study for a test, which isn't like her. And you got your proper sleep, something is going on between you two!" Veronica squealed.

"V, What are you talking about?" Betty asked.

"I mean, come on! Cheryl always studies then suddenly studying isn't important to her. Toni actually slept last night, Betty. It totally adds up." Veronica explained.

"Wait! Yeah, Yeah! Oh my God! Spill." Betty giggled.

Cheryl rolled her eyes, "It's between Toni and I." Her eyes on Toni who has a blush on her face.

She pushed her glasses up, shrugging, "It's not a big deal." Toni sighed.

"NOT A BIG DEAL?!" Betty and Veronica yelled causing everyone in the lounge to become quiet.

"What? Go back to your business." Cheryl said.

Everyone went back into conversation. "I can't believe you didn't want to tell us." Veronica sighed.

"V, It was nothing big, all was did was kiss-" Cheryl got interrupted.

"You kissed!?" Betty asked excitedly.

Cheryl mouthed 'I'm sorry' to Toni who nodded an Okay.

"Oh my God, this gets better and better." Veronica smiled.

The bell ringed, making all the students sigh.

"See ya in chemistry. Come on,T." Cheryl smiled.

Toni nodded, walking out with the redhead.

"She's so whipped." Betty nodded.

"Totally." Veronica agreed.

Lunch finally rolled around. Toni, Betty, and Veronica sat at the lunch table waiting for the other's to join.

"So, T? How does it feel?" Veronica asked.

Toni looked up from her book after eating her celery, "How does what feel?"

"To kiss Cheryl?" Betty said.

Toni shrugged, "How is it supposed to feel?" Toni asked.

Before Veronica could answer, Cheryl came over to the table.

"Sorry I'm late, Mr. Devon wanted to give me an extra worksheet." She smiled, sitting beside her crush.

"Hey, Babygirl." Cheryl said, kissing the girl's cheek.

Toni blushed, hiding her face in the book.

"Oh my god! Choni!" Kevin squealed, sitting at the table.

"Hey, Kev." Cheryl waved.

"Uh, I- what's a Choni?" Toni asked nervously. Kevin was popular beside Cheryl.

He never really interacted with her unless he's hanging with Cheryl.

"It's you and Cheryl's ship name, duh." He chuckled.

Toni nodded, going back to eating her lunch.

Kevin mouthed 'She's cute!' To Cheryl who replied with 'I know right?!'

"Come on, Cher! This is the 5th time you zoned out, focus, " Toni huffed.

Cheryl nodded, taking her eyes off of the brunette. Toni chuckled, shaking her head.

Cheryl started writing on a piece of paper, handing it to the tanned girl.

'You're so beautiful.' It read in Cheryl's neat hand-writing.

Toni blushed, writing back, then handed it to Cheryl who smirked.

'Thank you.'

Cheryl giggled, folding the paper into her binder, going back to work.
