3 weeks later

It's been almost a month since Toni moved to Riverdale.

She and Cheryl have been getting along better. Toni was comfortable to talk more around her. Also to Betty and Veronica.

Cheryl's crush on the girl was increasing by the minute.

The way Toni would push up her glasses when she'd laugh or chuckle. Or when she makes a cute joke about science.

"Cheryl, your staring." Veronica warned.

Cheryl huffed, putting her head down.

Toni raised her brow at Veronica who just shrugged.

"Cheryl, Are you okay?" Toni asked, touching her arm.

Cheryl sighed, sitting up. "Yeah, I'm just tired, I didn't really sleep last night." Cheryl lied. Well, particularly, She really didn't sleep at all last night, a certain nerdy brunette on her mind.

"Oh, Okay." Toni nodded, going back to speaking to Betty.

"Nice save." Veronica giggled.

Cheryl had called Veronica in tears because Toni is stuck on her mind.

Obviously, Betty and Veronica knew about the blossom's crush, but Toni was completely oblivious.

Toni was just used to people thinking she's a freak and calling her names. No one's ever had strong feelings for her.

"Maybe you should tell her. I mean, you guys been close lately." Veronica whispered.

"Yeah, but I don't want to mess up our friendship if she doesn't like me back." Cheryl sighed, "She just started getting comfortable with me." She added.

"Well, you better shoot your shot because I think Reggie has eyes for her." Veronica said, pointing to Reggie who was eyeing Toni.

"He's got nothing on me. I'm hotter than him." Cheryl scoffed.

"Mhmm, it's not about the looks." Veronica said.

That stuck with Cheryl all day.

"So, Mr. Lee gave me this weird history assignment, think you can help?" Cheryl asked as they walked home.

"Yeah, sure. I have nothing to do anyway." Toni chuckled, pushing her glasses up.

"You're cute." Cheryl smirked, but it slipped out.

Toni's face turned red, putting her head down to hide the blush.

Cheryl and Toni entered Toni's house.

"Hey, mom." Toni greeted. "Hey, love. Hello Cheryl." She greeted.

"Hey, " Cheryl smiled, letting Toni drag her upstairs.

"Okay, So what's the assignment?" Toni asked, plumping on her bed.

Cheryl bit her lip, think whether if she should do what she's about to do.

Cheryl went over to Toni and Kissed her.

Toni quickly pushed her off, taking deep breathes.

"I-Shit! I'm sorry, Toni. I don't know what came over me!" Before Toni could say anything, she grabbed her things and left.

"Cher-" Toni called but it was too late, Cheryl was already out the door.

---------

It's been a few days since the "Kiss."

Cheryl's been ignoring Toni all week. Toni knows why, and when she told Betty what happened she understood more.

She learned that Cheryl doesn't like to show emotions, so she blocks you out. She doesn't know why though, Betty told her it wasn't her place to say, which she totally understood.

Toni frowned as she watched Cheryl walk over to sit with the popular kids.

"Don't beat yourself up, She'll come around." Veronica smiled, nudging her shoulder.

Toni sighed, pushing her glasses up as she started to eat her lunch.

I sure hope she does. Toni thought.
