I grab a water out of the fridge and plop myself down in a chair. Maybe it isn't all so bad, I mean Paul and Chris seem really nice. Cole is, well he is mostly still Cole. More moody but still Cole. I can understand why he wouldn't want to tell me. I mean there was a really good chance I'd run for the hills. It's been 9 years, 9 horrible years for both of us but he still loves me. He's loved me the entire time. It broke him when he came back for me and I was moved on. Not that I really was moved on, but how would he have known.
Gathering my thoughts and sipping the water a voice pulls me from my head. "Who are you?"
I look up from the spot I've been staring at on the counter to see a women with really long and really dark hair. She's skinny and covered in tattoos and a ton of makeup. I can't tell if she's pretty or trashy. "Uh....I'm Ellie." I tell her, and wonder if I'm supposed to go by Blondie like Gunner calls me or Queen like Tech explained I was. Not that I really want either of those names.
"Cool. Why are you here?" She asks tilting her head like she's studying me or something.
I really don't know how to answer her or who she is. "Uh, who are you?" I ask instead of giving her an answer.
"Brianna, the prez's girlfriend. So I'm meant to be here, are you?" She says with a big proud smile.
They call Cole Prez, he's the president, he's in charge. She said girlfriend right?
"Excuse me. I just need to get my stuff and leave." I head towards the stairs to Cole's room so I can grab my purse and phone. I am so stupid, who was I kidding that he was the same and things between us could be fine. His tattoo just hasn't been covered up yet, it isn't a reminder of us.
The Brianna girl yells at me about not being allowed up the stairs but I just keep going. Even Chris was saying there was more to tell and Cole said it was personal. Yeah, well a girlfriend is rather personal.
I shove all my stuff in my purse and grab my phone off the stand texting Sonja and Ty in our group text to see if either of them could give me a ride as I sprint back down the stairs.
I hit the bottom step and come face to face with Cole's freaking girlfriend. Of course he has a girlfriend, I mean I was married it's not like we were saving ourselves or putting a hold on our lives or anything.
"Bye then.. Maybe I'll see you around." She says sounding happy as I run around past her.
"Doubt it, Bye." I mumble back.
I get out the door and outside when my phone pings. It's Ty and he's on his way for me. It's chilly and raining so I pull my jacket out of my purse and shrug it on. Savoring the leather smell until I realize how much it makes my heartache all over again.
I make my way down the long driveway just before Ty pulls up.
"You okay sis?" He asks while I climb in his truck.
"I don't know Ty. Just take me home please." He frowns at my response but nods and puts his truck in drive.
10 minutes later and he's pulling into Sonja's drive. I mumble thanks as I go to hop out but Ty catches my arm. "Ellie, Wait."
"What Ty?"
"Look, I don't know why you are upset again, other than it is probably some how Cole's fault, but two things okay?"
I roll my eyes, I am not in the mood for a lecture right now.
"Okay?" He asks again.
"Yeah okay." I respond and sit back in the seat. Ty drops my arm.
