When Matteo and I get home, someone is there ready to open the door for us.
"The files are in your study." Matteo informs as the both of walk into the apartment. As Matteo and I are making our way through the door, someone grabs him by the collar from behind. I hear him choke from the force.
"You're not allowed in." One of my men threaten him. I turn around and give him a death glare.
"If you value your life, I'd let Matteo go." He releases his grip on Matteo as he looks to me in fear. "Good boy." I say in a high pitched baby voice. Matteo stands next me and fixes his tux in annoyance. Kind of like he was trying his hardest not to kill the guy who touched him. "Last time I checked, Sean, you weren't on my level. I can do whatever the fuck I want, you on the other hand, can't." Matteo warns. His calm tone becomes very deep. He wraps his hand around the guys throat in anger. "Touch me again, and I'll dismember your body and send your head to your daughter." The man is shaking in fear from the words Matteo said. I cant help but smile from how proud I am of him.

Matteo and I met the week after my escape from the hospital. At the time I was still thirteen. I was walking along the side walk, at night, when I tripped over something hard. When I looked down, I saw that it was a skinny leg under a tarp. I push the tarp aside then see a skinny and frail, white, brown haired boy laying there. He was pale and blue. He was coated in bumps and bruises and barely had any meat on his bones. I've never felt sorry for a male before so the fact that I was on the verge of tears was shocking. I swallow my emotions then get down on my knees to look at him. I lift my hand to brush the hair out of his face but he flinches away. Instead of continuing to move my hand closer and scare him further, I just hold out my hand for him to grab.
when his sat up, I conjure up the softest smile I could.
"What's your name?" I ask. I can practically feel the desperation in his eyes. I roll my eyes at his silence and helped him to stand up.
"Come with me." I tell the little, short boy before me.
"I don't know you." His voice is ridged but high pitched.
"That doesn't matter." I grabbed his hand in mine and we walk for a solid minute before his legs gave out. He fell face first and cries, but I don't judge him. If anything, I was happy that he even had the strength to release his tears.
"Just leave me. I'm gonna die anyway." I walk to the tarp that was on the floor then make my way back to him. I tie him to my back with the tarp and start to walk once again.
"I'm not leaving you behind." I walk up until I see clothes hanging from a string which I found ridiculous because there was such thing as dryers. I pick off the most basic clothing for both me and the boy I found on the street. I took of his clothing and put the new clothes on him and did the same for me.
I walk us to a local gas station. "Kid, I need you to act like your sleeping, okay?" Just like that, he closes his eyes and I walk into the station. I run in and straight to the bathrooms to wash ourselves of and look more presentable for what I'm going to do next. I put the boy back on my back but this time without the tarp.  I knock on the front counter and the girl behind it looks to me.
"I'm sorry to bother you but my step brother and I don't know where our mom went. Can you help us?"
She automatically told us to sit behind the counter as she goes outside to look for a person I describe, who also doesn't exist. when she leaves, I rush to the back of the store and get a water bottle and a chocolate chip cookie. I hand it to him quickly and tell him to eat it.
"I don't care but if you don't eat it, you'll die anyways. So..." He unwraps the cookie and scarfs it down before chugging the water afterwards. I could already see that his face is regaining color. I quickly pack the tarp up with food and water before grabbing his hand and running out the doors, away from the station.
Once we hit my usual camp site that I build out of wooden crates and random sheets I found in the streets, I help him lay on the ground.
"It's safe. You can sleep now."
"Matteo." He says as I put all the food and drinks to the side.
"Hmm?"
"My name is Matteo." I smile at him.
"I'm Luna. How old are you?"
"I'm nine. What about you?"
"Thirteen. And don't worry, Matteo. It wont be like this for long. I'm gonna make a business and you'll be my right hand man. But for now, get some rest."
