I wake up from my slumber by a man in a gray shirt and basketball shorts on opening my blinds and letting the light through. I let my eyes open completely but stay in the same position.
"You sleep chaotically." He says as he sits down in the chair next to my bed.
I sit up completely and laugh at his remark sarcastically. "I can't help it." I slip out of my bed and walk into the bathroom. The lights automatically turn on when I look into the mirror.
When I finish my routine, I walk out of the bathroom to see Matteo holding out a black folder with the same red wax on it.
"The files you asked Marina to get for you. She said you wouldn't want to see her face." I take the folder and toss it to my bed before stripping down to my underwear and putting on a black T-shirt and some gray sweat pants.
"Well she isn't wrong about that." I say as I grab the folder want walk through our hallway and down the spiral stairs, into the kitchen. He follows behind me and watches as I turn the coffee pot on.
"What happened last night?" He asks.
"I fingered her on her desk top. Milk?" I ask in regards to his coffee. He shakes his head no so I just take my coffee to the living room. I sit in the white couch and he sits across from me. I open the folder and rummage through the images and essays.
"I thought you said were done with messing with her, Luna." He sips his coffee and I exhale heavily.
"Yeah well I was horny, she was horny. I decided to kill two birds with one stone. If it helps, I didn't feel anything during." I sip my coffee and continue with my search.
I can tell that Matteo was mentally shaming me but I don't care enough to say anything. Matteo hats it when I sleep with almost every living thing. He says it creates an inevitable mess the he doesn't enjoy cleaning up. I still do it either way. The only difference is that I tell the women I sleep with that it's just a one time thing so that they know not to get their hopes up.
I come across an image of the strip club Matteo and I went to the other night. Underneath that is a picture of the pink bunny stripper with and address to an old local café. I try to convince myself that this isn't who I think it is but my mind has already made the connection.
"See anything?" He stands from his spot and looks to the papers in front of me. He laughs when he see the pink bunny.
"If she's the one who did this, that would be inconvincible. Need a ride to the address?"
"Yeah. Bring the car around."

He pulls up to the café and I see Matteo about to get out but I tell him to stay inside of it. His masculine physique would scare them more then if I were to just go alone.
When I walk in, the smell of coffee hits my nose. Not many people are hear, only nine at most. I see an old lady behind the main counter so I walk to her.
"Excuse me, ma'am. Do you know the name of this girl." I place the picture onto the counter but she doesn't look to it.
"I'm sorry, baby. Hold on a second." She steps back and looks to the back of the café. "Lee!" she shouts then a pastel purple headed boy comes walking out.
"Hmm?" He says.
"This young lady wants to know who is in this picture." the lady pushes the image in his direction and I smile as I await his response. He looks to me with no emotion and I do the same.
"Oh are you looking to hire Ez?" He says with enthusiasm. I go to answer his question but then realize his happy-go-lucky face turns serious in the matter of milliseconds. I look behind me but see that no one is there. I look back to him and squint in confusion.
"You okay, kid?" I ask then hear a gun shot go off. Everyone screams and ducks down but Lee high tails it to the back. I look to see if the lady is okay and when I see that she is, I sprint out and into the street. Matteo has his gun by his side and a spot of blood under him.
"Who did you kill?" I ask as he places his gun back into his holder.
"No one. He got away before I could hit him."
"Do you know who he is?"
"No, but he was threatening Pink outside the window."
"She was here?!" I scope around but see no one.
"Yeah, I thought id get to her but she fled. Hence the blood."
"That must have been why Lee freaked out and went cold."
"Who's Lee?"
"I don't know but he's a suspect. Let's get out of here before we draw more attention."

When we get home, Matteo insists that he go back to the café and investigate what happened more and I don't fight him. Once his mind is set to something, there is no convincing him otherwise. We wait until the sky is black to go back out.
We walk around the café then hear clatter from the back of it. I look to Matteo before the both of us run to the back of the café.
"Hey!" Matteo shouts. The boxes in Lee's hands fly to the ground as he squeaks in fear. He runs into the back and Matteo is about to run in after him but he's stopped by the older lady. "Excuse me but I need to get that boy." He scolds and she cocks her head to the side.
"Oh you mean my son? I'm sorry but he cant hear you. He's deaf, baby."
"Miss, I..."
"Ah. If you guys want to play together, wait for tomorrow." She shoes Matteo away and closes the door in his face. He's left there disheveled at what just happened. Usually he would fight back but the fact that she's older and unapologetically kind, he doesn't know what to do.
I giggle to myself as he stands there and then grab the back of his neck.
"Come on, kid. Let's go home."
