Beauty exists everywhere
In every dark abyss; hairline fractures
Hearts full of empty love
Love unrequited, not returned
Seemingly useless
Where is the value in loving
One who loves another
So deeply that your love can't even compare
To the fiery embers in his eyes
At the sound of her name
Oh, what great pain must be endured
To see such a love wasted
Spilled lemon tea
Sour and sweet presence
I adore the thought of being around you
But if I hear her name again, oh God
I would rather be deaf
Beauty exists everywhere
Even in the colors not considered
To shade in the blank spaces of your heart
I am beautiful
Whether the mirror is cracked
Whether you can name
The constellations on my face
I am galaxies of loud thoughts and spoken quiet
Affectionate hands and rapid heartbeats
And no matter how much I want you to notice
Minuscule gestures will always be just that
And I've noticed that the beauty I offer
Is not what you're looking for
Dress and heels, angelic voice
Broken wings that can only you can fix
Damsel in distress, please save her
She'll save you a kiss
With lips like cherries
And eyes like shallow water
Never quite as shallow as her
But one day the sun will burn to bright
And her waves won't soothe you
I hope you know where the ocean is
