Karan
It has been a week since Krystle decided to stay with that man and not even once did she call.

They are busy talking about her family.

My mind mocked.

I huffed out a breath and was about to make myself some tea when my phone rang. Thinking it might be Krystle, I ran to my bedroom and grabbed my phone off of the bedside table.

Disappointment filled me when I looked at Mr. Srivastav's name. Nevertheless, I answered the call.

"K2! How are you my boy?" His ecstatic voice spoke from the other side.

I wonder what made him so excited.

"I'm fine boss." I grumbled, totally not in the mood for talking.

"Dev Patel just sent some money. Apparently he was very happy with your work and thought of giving you a bonus. Think that of your resignation gift."

"Why would he pay me more when he's already paying more than what he should?" I asked, confused. "The job was pretty easy. I just had to protect her from Tony who just attacked once. I think I scared hi-" I was about to joke that I scared him when something clicked in my mind.

"K2? K2?" Boss's voice rang in my ear. "You there?"

"Shit!" I cursed.

"K2? What happened? Is someone there?"

"Dev Patel is not who he claims to be. " I spoke as I put on my shoes. "He only hired Tony to scare Krystle off. He needed her for something."

"K2 you are not making any sense. Why would he do that?"

"Think about it boss. Why would someone pay a huge amount just to protect his late friend's daughter. And surprisingly this mafia boss didn't attack once after I found Krystle." I explained. "Something is very wrong boss."

I took my car keys and switched off all the lights before locking the front door. Opening my garage, I reversed my car out from the garage and shut it down.

I hope you are okay Krystle.

Silently praying, I started driving off in the direction of Dev's house.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I parked my car on the street and walked down the rest of way to the iron gates. Guards were scattered all over the place who were not there the last time.
I think Dev expects that I will know about his plan.
Very well then.
I walked upto the iron gates and the guards stopped me.
"You cannot go inside." One of them spoke.
"And why is that?" I asked calmly even though my insides were ripping from worry.
"Ma'am doesn't want to see you." He answered and I scoffed.
"Why don't you let her decide." I challenged because he was lying.
I could see through him clearly.
"No. Boss's order." He stated, folding his arms across his chest.
"Okay then. Give her this then." I said as I dumped Krystle's bag down on the concrete. "I don't want to see her too. Tell her that."
I turned around and went back to my car. I drove off from there to the mansion's back side. There was no way I was going to leave without seeing Krystle. She may be okay but I still need to see her. I did not wanted to cause a scene with guards so that's why I acted that I don't care about her in front of them. I know they bought my act.
I left my car behind the trees and walked to the mansion. There was only one window on this side, on the first floor and I had to get there. A pipe was running down the side of the house.
That would be my ladder. I looked around the house, there were no guards on the back side. Good. The night time would help me carry out my plan.
I checked the durability of the pipe and thanked the Gods when it didn't crack or break under my weight.
Huffing out a breath, I started climbing the pipe. It was more easy than I thought it was as the pipe's handles were big enough for me to place my toes.
I placed my foot on the narrow cement shed. Slowly, I took small steps until I reached the side of the window and stood straight against the wall with my front facing it. Taking a deep breath and calming my heart, I waited a few moments before slowly looking through the window. The room was empty.
"Thank god." I breathed out.
I pushed the handle and was surprised to see it was open. I opened the window all the way and slowly stood on the sill of the window and jumped inside the room. It was a thaetre
Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I first took my phone out and put it on silent mode. I don't want to ruin my plan just because of a stupid mistake.
Let's do this.
The door opened without squeaking which I was thankful for. I craned my neck to see if someone was there in the hallway. No one. I pulled the handle more and stepped out of the room to the hallway.
I didn't know in which room, Krystle was so I had to check all of them which would be a task but I had to do it. Seeing that no one was there on the floor, I walked to the door that was next to the theatre. I turned the knob and was about to open the door when I heard some one speaking inside the room. Their words were jumbled.
It was Dev. I quickly left the knob and took a few steps back.
Two wrong rooms. I wonder if Krystle was even here.
I moved further to the next room and it was a library. The door had glass so it was easy to see. Moving further I came across the next door. This room was on the end of the hallway and a little lobby was in front of it. It looked like this room was meant ro be hidden. Apparently, the door was painted same as the walls so that a person would think this is just the wall but I could see the little gap between the floor and the door. The lines of the door were also visible to me.
After all, I'm an agent and if I don't know these things then who else will.
Smart but what are you hiding Dev.
I heard for any voices and didn't hear anything. I pushed opened the door a little and checked to find it empty. The room was dark but I could still make out that it was a guest room, judging by a single king sized bed and a mirror.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of a door opening and looked down to find that some guards were entering the house. I quickly went inside the room and closed the door. I rested my back against the door and inhaled deeply.
That was close.
I heard some shuffling and quickly took out my tranquilizer gun. I kept my right arm stretched out in the direction of the sound and turned on the light with the other.
I don't know what I was expecting when I was coming here but I certainly did not expect this.
