Rocky Meets The New Kid on the Block

Prompt: A continuation of Surprise and Rocky Meets The Family.

"Hi, Rocky." Laurel greets tiredly as she hobbles through the door, Thea leading her inside with one hand on her back as the other carries precious cargo.

Rocky pants happily and quickly makes her way to Laurel's side, proving support as she leads her to the couch.

"Good girl." Thea praises softly as she watches the husky and german shepherd mixed dog guide her wife to the couch.

Laurel sighs in relief as she sits down, smiling softly as Rocky grabs a blanket with her mouth and throws it over her legs.

"You think she's ready for her surprise?" Laurel teases, straightening out the blanket given to her by Rocky.

"She will be very disappointed that it's not the brand new squeaky toy." Thea jokes as she carefully sits down on the couch, cradling something close to her chest.

Laurel laughs softly, pressing a kiss to her wife's cheek.

"Come here, girl. Sit, Rocky." Laurel instructs gently, waving the dog closer.

Rocky sits directly in front of Laurel, resting her head on Laurel's leg.

"Well, Rocky. Meet the new kid on the block." Thea says softly as she repositions the baby in her arms to show the dog.

"Rocky, this is Tommi. Tommi, meet Rocky." Laurel says as she introduces her newborn daughter.

"She's family, Rocky. Your family." Thea says.

Rocky nudges her head forward, until she's directly in front of Tommi. Rocky stares at the sleeping newborn, watching her intently. Then, Tommi opens her eyes. The two would forever be family.
