Y/N POV

I came to the conclusion I should maybe turn around to see who it was that had been calling me. In that moment my heart skipped. It turned out to be a girl that looked to by my age with beautiful red hair. She was running after me holding her hat on her head to keep it from flying off. "Hey Wait!" she said once again. But this time I took the opportunity to turn and stop to wait for her to catch up to me. She finally got close and was slightly out of breath. I walked a bit closer to see what she wanted.

"I'm sorry I didn't stop. What can I help you with?" I said looking into her eyes.

"Well I had been told that a new girl moved here and she was coming to school with us. I noticed you were going a bit the wrong way. The school is actually that way" She said pointing in a direction more right than I was going. Well at least she found me now before I had gotten entirely lost. I shrugged then turned back to her.
"Well thank you for telling me. My name is Y/n. As you've already realized I am new here" I said holding out my hand for her to shake. She took my hand and responded with "Well delightful to meet you! My name is Anne. Plain old Anne...but spelled with an e. Please remember the e" I smiled at her and we started walking in the correct direction trying to get to school on time.

"I love your hair! I've never seen anyone with such vibrant hair before. It's quite beautiful." I said to her while looking at her carefully placed braids. I truly thought it was beautiful and so different from what I had seen before.

"Oh why would you like my dreadful hair. I would be so appreciative to have hair like yours" she responded to me in shock. We quickly moved on from the subject and started talking about other subjects.

"Where did you move from?" Anne said while jumping over a small log. I followed shortly behind and responded with, "Oh, I moved here from New York city. But my parents grew tired of the city" I almost tripped over a root and stumbled a bit. We both laughed for a bit. We started to approach the school and there was another girl running towards us shouting Anne's name.
"Anne! Where were you? I thought we were going to walk to school together today?" She said before she noticed me behind Anna. She looked at me in a mild puzzled way before turning back to Anne to ask who I was. Before either could say anything I introduced myself

"Hello. My name is Y/N I just moved here about a week ago. This is my first day at school here"

"Oh you are the daughter of the new family down the road. My name is Diana. I'm sure you will like it here" She said leading the two of us into the school. She showed me where I should put my milk by the creek and where to put my coat. Both Anna and Diana started talking to each other and walked into the school together. I slowed a bit then entered on my own. As soon as I made it to the main room everyone turned to look at me. I stood there nervously for a bit until Diana and Anne motioned me to join them with the rest of the girls. The boys continued to stare and whisper to one another. It made me self conscious so I turned away from them and started to talk with the girls. I soon learned all their names and a little bit about them. Josie claimed that since I was "rich and pretty" that I should join and sit with her rather than be with Anne. I was quite skeptical because I didn't understand why I could be with Anne so I just ignored that remark and continued to interact with the rest of them. I realized that I had a lot in common with Prissy and I'm sure we are going to become good friends. Ruby and Jane were quite nice as well. They seemed to smile too much but it was cute. Especially Ruby who seemed to be all smiles but a bit dramatic about certain subjects. I started to feel welcome until the door swung open to a tall mustached man. He strolled into the room and in a booming voice said,

"Everyone take your seats! We have a new student. Please come up to the board and introduce yourself." gesturing me to come up to the board i went. Turning around to face the crowd of students I caught the eye of a boy. He had curly brown hair she gave me a mischievous smirk before I started speaking. I looked away from him to look at someone else and told them,

"Greetings! My name is Y/N and I just moved here from the states and I look forward to learning with you all the rest of the year" I went to go back to my seat with Josie and a different boy looked at me. He seemed a little more douchey with this smile on his face that screamed trouble. Along with styled, dirty blonde hair. I quickly looked away from him and saw the boy before looking at me again. A gave a small wave and he turned back around. I leaned over to Josie to ask who they were.

"This one is Billy Andrews. The one other there is Gilbert Blythe. But you musnt speak with him. Ruby has had dibs on him for years so you cannot have a chance" I looked at her a bit questionable because I've never heard of calling dibs on a person before. Maybe a muffin but never a person. I nodded and turned to pay attention to class again. I knew I wanted to try to make friends with the boys as well. I wasn't exactly a super lady like person so I tend to not like always being surrounded with it. I wanted to become friends with the boys too along with the girls. It may not seem like it but I wanted to make a good impression.

So far every question asked of me I answered correctly and seemed to gain the attention of the Blythe boy. He would periodically turn to me and smile or give me a thumbs up. Which I found quite odd since we have never spoken. But I turned away not wanting to get in trouble. I think I'm going to have a good time here
