Days pass and the concert date gets closer and closer.
Jungkook comes back at the apartment later than usual that day. It was a tiring one and he lets himself fall onto the sofa, head pressed on the cushions, limbs deadweight and eyes closed, partially covered by his fluffy black hair.
He breathes, calm. The apartment feels silent and it's oddly dark. Asking himself where Shin might be, he hears some noises from down the corridor.
He stands up and heads towards the source of those noises, which seems to reside in the gym room.
He opens the door and there she is. Long braid, tech top crossed on the back, tight high-waist leggings. And barefoot, as it should be on the mat.
Shin is throwing at the sandbag jab-cross-cross-elbow, step-bouncing side to side. Then kick, she voices out loud, to drop sit on the floor to catch her breath.
Jungkook gawks at her, at how her minute but slender and fit body moves; at her swings and those rebel hair that stick to the side of her face, and finally at her focused and feisty expression reflected on the mirror.
And she couldn't be more enthralling.
Though a line between her eyebrows displays quarrelsome features. Something happened.
"So... Do you plan on standing there all night?" Shin-seul smiles upon noticing him.
Jungkook arises from his trance and clears his throat. "What? No. What are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing to you?" She asks back with an are-you-dumb tone.
Jungkook rolls his eyes. "I meant, what are you doing in here at this hour?"
"Nothing. I'm just getting some exercise done. But now that you are here, what do you say about a fight, uh?" Shin grins and walks up to his friend, taunting him with fake and haste punches to face and chest.
He doesn't budge. "Mmm... You know, you usually want to fight when you're upset. Something happened, right?"
She scoffs. "Oufff... You are no fun, Kookie. What is it, are you afraid I'll beat your biiip off?"
A sonorous laugh leaves Jungkook's lips—now he is amused. He takes off his shoes before speaking. "You won't. Okay, let's fight. As soon as you tell me what happened, though".
Shin's eyes gleam for his friend's acceptance. Her mood altered only for a moment by what she's about to share.
"My mother texted. She wants me back. She says I'm acting like a child". Shin tilts her head to the side while pondering a thought for a moment. "Well, maybe a little I am," she grins, "but I can't stand her any longer..."
