''Shut up Amber I'm talking. So he told me that Toby will be here tonight and I immediately told my mom to buy me that peach dress that just sinks on my curves and-'' the whole squad shifted their attention to me just as I entered the classroom.

I'm tired of the Glossy busy pestering me around. Don't ask where they got that name from. It is ridiculous I know but I admire their confidence which is what I do not have.

''Look who just arrived! I still haven't found the right name for you,'' confessed Lizzy the leader of the Glossy tapping on my chair with her clean and black fingernail polished hands. She lied. Anything that came to mind at the sight of my being, she would call me anything. Lucky enough today because of the overexcitement overflowing her, she cannot think of a name.

''It's because she's a nobody,'' supported her pet beside her resulting in sassy laughs resounding in the classroom.

''I heard what you are going to be up to tonight young lady, you ready for your embarrassment?'' giggles ''I bet you are. You haven't even prepared your dress yet, people like Toby Davis wouldn't even look at you. Bye Olivia!''

I guess news travels fast in High school. I used to think that the small sassy groups were only existent in movies and not in reality. But I learned that they are the worst in reality the hard way when I started learning in Tennesse. I was in Form 3 when my mother decided I had to leave my former government school to a private one for better exposure and also because she had a better job to manage the fees. It was an easy and unburdening process because I had no personal attachments linking me to the school

Everything about Tennesse High school was different for me. I was ignorant about everything. I never knew what a cafeteria was, even worse what an exeat was. In my former school all that was important were athletics and respect. You can imagine the suddenness and uncertainty that befell me when I entered those gates. I made no friends of my age at school. I've had the Literature teacher as my friend for two years. Now I'm in Form 6 working towards my final examinations later this year. Sadly the Glossy found me as a target ever since I started here and have been making my life miserable ever since.

Toby Davis?

I had no one to ask who this Toby Davis is and his significance. So I kept my peace and listened to the prefect who came in right after the Glossy left my desk. She announced that our lessons were cut short today. Everyone was going to knock off at 1200hrs so that the preparations would begin. The gathering was to start at exactly 1830hrs so people were to be ready and present at this time.

Obviously I was screwed. Mother had instructed I was to be late because of her date night with Liberty. Just as the prefect left I texted my mother to tell her the news and waited for the first lesson to start. I found it funny how we were still learning even though we had a few days left until the schools closed. In every lesson, all we discussed was about the Social.

The teachers were overexcited. From one period to the next we were lectured about how we were supposed to carry ourselves especially in front of boys. For some, this was going to be hard because they might overreact and lose their senses insight of devil- somely cute boys. Or some like me will not react at all for very valid reasons why.

The weather was chill and refreshing giving a light atmosphere throughout the day. I was bored and hungry and anxious. I guess that's how everybody feels before their death. It was Mr. Gren's computer science lesson when the bell went. All the excited students went home to get ready for the spectacular night. I traveled back home tired and anxious to know this Toby and his deal. All my life I have been stalking people in social media and have never come across a Toby. He better be worth my while.
