Chapter 9

Mushroom Pass Train way
Eastern Coast of Koopa Village

King Toadstool's POV

"Your highness, would you care for a spot of tea?", Toadette, my loyal intern, asked.

"Yes.", I accepted.

While Toadette poured the tea into the cup, I helped myself by reading the newspaper.

"You know what I've noticed Toadette?", I began.

"What would be that be, sir?"

"I'm wondering why is it that my daughter is so....distant from me?", I questioned. I could see Toadette nearly spilled the tea when I spoke of my daughter.

"Um....I have no idea.", Toadette said.

"Are you sure? Mrs. Toadette, I know that you're good friends with my daughter. Yet, somewhat, motherly.", I said.

"Its an honor that you think that, sir.", Toadette said, "But, if you want my opinion. I would say she feels....sort of....misunderstood."

".....Misunderstood?", I repeated,"Why would she feel that way?"

"Sir...its really not my place to tell you any of this.", Toadette assured.

"Why is that? Toadette, you're the only way for me to discover why my daughter is 'misunderstood'.", I said,"Please. Tell me what's wrong with her?",

"......"

"Please."

"....Sir, she feels-"

A screeching noise could be heard from the train. Suddenly, the train stopped.

Soon, the train conductor came running into my train car.

"Why have we stopped?", I asked sternly.

"Sir! There is a suspicious being on the train track in some type of vehicle.", the conductor explained.

"Well, remove him. I have to be back in the Mushroom Kingdom by tonight.", I stated.

"But sir....the fiend isn't the only one there. He's accompanied by six others.", the conductor stated.

"Hmm. Looks like I'll have to negotiate with these beings.", I said.

"Sir. That's out of the question.", Toadette stated, "By my will, I do not permit you confronting these hooligans."

"I will. We will discuss this later.", I stated. Leaving Toadette and the conductor silent. And with that said, I left, to confront whoever was threatening my way home.
