Chapter 4

"He's pissed off and I don’t care. I'm bored with him so like I said, we need to break up." Ericka narrated her break up with Tyler.

"So that's it? The two of you are through?" I asked as if I hadn't heard this before.

"Yep, its official that I’m available again." she said with a twinkle in her eyes, which meant, boy hunting. Maybe by tomorrow or the next day she would have a boy toy again.

"I have to plan a cute outfit for tomorrow. By the way, how's your day?" Ericka asked while driving.

"It's fine. No worries 'bout Mark. I practically ignored him the whole time." I ensured her.

"So, any boys catching your eyes yet?" she giggled.

"Nah...The boys at school were lame. Although there's this one guy. The one I told you about. He's always staring at me and we unexpectedly had lunch together." I said.

"Yea, about the new guy, I haven't got the chance to see him yet. I've got cheer practices so I missed some of our classes. Since the nationals are coming up. What's his name again?" she asked.

"He’s Zeke Dylan." I answered but I was unsure that I did the right thing.

The same routine went down at school. I still ignored Mark but I phantom an interest with Zeke. He always sat next to me and surveyed my every move. Whenever we had an eye contact, he would smile genuinely. It made me nervous and excited at the same time.

"Hey, wanna hang out after school? I could show you some spots where you could draw an inspiration from." He suddenly asked.

It took me by surprise. Is he asking me out? But he said "hangout". It’s not a date, it’s more like a friendly gesture.

             "I can't. We have a band practice." I blurted.

"Nice...you have a band? What do you play then?" He asked.

"Bass. It’s not much. We're still in our garage phase. We're practicing for the homecoming dance." I responded and my face turned scarlet.

"Cool, you're really talented. I would then be attending a dance for the first time." He nodded.

"Maybe next time, I would love to see those spots you're talking about." I said. He smirked.

While having a free period, I tattled to Ericka about how Zeke asked me to hangout.

"I’m not yet sure if I’m ready to date again or be in a relationship. I admit, I’m still hurt from my past." I groaned.

"Oh get over him honey. Mark's not worth it." Ericka scolded.

"Hey, Aria you forgot your pencil" Zeke called out handing me the pencil.

"Thanks."  I smiled then I turned to Ericka who's checking Zeke out.

I recognized that same sparkle in her eyes when she had something she wanted.

             Uh. oh.
