Chapter 13
(Aria's POV)
I held my iPhone and read all the comments from my vendeta against my so-called bestfriend. People were harsh and some were completely out of the line. I was beginning to regret what I did.
"Did I go too far?"
"No. It serves her right. She had no mercy on you when she let out that naked picture. "
"But people now hated her because of me. "
I drastically shook my head. If I were in a cartoon movie, I'd picture myself having an angel to my right and a lil' devil version of me to my left. It was hilarious however there's nothing funny in a situation like this. I was having second thoughts. My conscience started filling in.
During breakfast I silently ate my chicken sandwich. Until, mom and dad noticed that I was chewing like a cow and staring blankly at the pitcher of orange juice in front of me.
"The pitcher's going to melt sis. Stop staring at it." Jake humored me and smirked.
"Aria, what's wrong?" Mom asked as she put her hand on my shoulder.
"Huh?" I reacted.
"You seem lost. Is there a problem at school?" Dad spoke with authority in his voice.
"Uhm nothing mom, dad, just tired I finished my homework late last night." I was getting the art of lying.
"I see. So Ericka's picking you up?" Mom asked but there's a tone in her voice that was doubtful.
"Not today." I replied and swallowed the last chunk of sandwich to finish of and go to school.
I did not want my parents to interrogate me further. They would just be disappointed that their daughter was a bitch to her bestfriend.
"I'll drive you." Jake offered.
"Aren't you supposed to be at the shop by now?" I implied.
"Nah. Mom said we'll open late today." Jake answered.
He's with mom at the shop since he got kicked out of his scholarship in college. He played basketball at the university. Unfortunately his grades went down and couldn't catch up. He would attend next semester but for now he served as mom's driver/helper.
"Why can't I drive it myself?" I whined.
"Because I'm a better driver than you are!" He messed up my hair, as a result, hairstrands were striking up in all directions.
"Argh! Jake! Look what have you done! I had to brush it again!" I screamed.
Jake let out a hoarse laugh feeling proud of his action as he rocked back and forth holding his stomach. Sometimes I think I'm more mature than my brother.
"Jake stop messing with your sister!" Dad scolded which stopped Jake.
"Thanks dad." I said, then grabbed my bag.
"You two better head out or else Aria's gonna be late." Mom uttered.
***
In the car Jake continued to laugh but paused finally when he's out of breathe.
"You do enjoy making me look bad." I exclaimed.
