Chapter 9
(Aria's POV)
Did he just say that to tease me? I couldnt say anything. From his brown eyes I could see that he's serious. It gave me goosebumps.
"You're kidding right?" I replied cautiously.
"Wish I was." He said with a stern voice.
"Ms. Bennet and Mr. Dylan is there something you wanted to share with us?" Mr. Allen our art class teacher scolded.
We immediately turned our attention infront and kept quiet.
"We'll talk about this later." I mouthed the words to him. I turned away and tried to absorb what he said.
After last period, Zeke pulled me out at the parking lot and demanded for us to talk.
"Let's talk." He muttered.
"Okay. Let's make it clear that we're just friends. Ericka's my bestfriend and I cant stab her in the back." I exclaimed.
"But i like you not her." He replied with eyes longing for an answer. I rolled my eyes.
"C'mon. I'll show you something." He grabbed my hand and persuaded me to ride with him.
We arrived at a mansion like the ones you see featured on tv. It was more like a glass house since most of the materials were made from it. I never knew that Zeke was wealthy. All I know was his father's a businessman and they just transferred here. He parked at the garage and I saw two luxury cars.
"Is this your house?" I verified.
"Yep. Let's go inside." He let me in and offered me a drink.
"Want soda?" He asked and tossed it. Thankfully I had good reflexes that I caught it. He chuckled then went to get some food in the fridge.
"Um, why am I here?" I asked impatiently.
He ignored my question and again grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs to his room. I immediately backed away.
"Hold up, Im not goin in there. Im not that kind of girl!" I protested.
"Relax. Im not a rapist if you're thinking that. I just wanna show you something." he grinned sheepishly it made me more tensed.
He opened the door and led me inside. I couldnt believe what I just saw. He did sketches and paintings of me. They were not just simple portraits that Mark used to draw. Zeke's artwork were more intense and I could feel his passion. They were posted on his walls. I was overwhelmed.
"You like it?" he asked.
"Wow. These are amazing. Im speechless." I complimented.
"You might think im a psycho huh?" He joked.
"Lil' bit!" I chuckled.
Then, there was awkward silence. He moved towards me and pierced his eyes with mine. He got closer and closer, only an inch apart. My heart was racing. He lowered his head and bent down to kiss me. I wanted to turn away but my feet were glued to the ground. I was mesmerized by those mysterious brown eyes and his tempting lips. He gently kissed me as I closed my eyes. I could feel electric shocks ran thru my body. He held on to my waist and drew me closer to him. I felt like I was in a trance.
"Zeke! Could you help me with this--" a girl holding a jar walked in. Her eyes widen and she giggled. I could tell she's his sister they had the same black hair and brown eyes.
I quickly pulled back and gather my senses. I was still lightheaded from the kiss.
"Riley, dont you know how to knock!?" Zeke scolded.
"Oops! Sorry bout that. Who's she? Is she your girlfriend?" Riley said while scrutinizing me.
"Her name's Aria, and no she's not my girlfriend....Not yet. " He winked and smiled at me charismatically.
I blushed and cleared my throat. "Hi..,." I acknowledge Riley's presence but it appeared that she's too busy looking at me from head to toe.
"I have to go." I turned to Zeke and rushed out side his room but he caught my hand.
"Tell me you dont have feelings for me." He pleaded.
I could tell that he's really sincere but Im still scared to commit in a relationship. Furthermore, Ericka's my bestfriend.
"I dont know. I have to go." I replied.
I went downstairs and stormed out of their house only to realize that Im nowhere near my home. I turned back and Zeke was standing at the front door. He was so goodlooking even with an evil grin on his face.
"Can you take me home now?" I asked slightly irritated.
"I was hoping you'd say that." He tossed his keys and surprisingly pulled out one of the luxury cars from the garage.
"That's a first." I muttered.
He chuckled and guided me into the car.
It was a 30-minute ride and from his house we hadn't engage into a conversation. It was like we were waiting for each other to start talking. There was tension between us.
When we arrived, I stepped out of the car. "Thanks for the ride. Bye." I said in a monotone voice.
He nodded then said. "You know, you have to be true to yourself. I know I am." He gave me another intense glare then departed without another word.
I still couldnt get over from what had happened. Zeke confessed that he liked me. I know I had feelings for him too. However, it didn't feel right.
My phone rang and it was Ericka.
OMG! Did she find out?
"Hey E. Wazzup?" I answered casually.
"A. You've gotta help me find that bitch!" She said while breathing heavily.
"Who? what bitch?" Guilt was starting to creep in.
"Weren't you listening to me? Zeke likes another girl!" She shouted.
"Oh that...right." I said.
"You and Zeke have art class right? Help me know who's that girl. Try to interrogate him." She demanded.
"I dont know E." I tried to reason out but I got none.
"C'mon A. You owe me your life remember?" She reminded me again that when we were in third grade she saved me from the car that nearly ran over me.
"Do you always have to remind me that?" I groaned.
"Duh! Im desperate.." She muttered.
"Okay. I'll try." I replied.
"You're the best. That bitch dont know who she's messing with." she giggled then hang up.
I'm dead.
