Lilly.... the girl's name was Lilly.
I decided to stay on her "good side", so I started a conversation. I could not see her though.
"So...Lilly." I began.
"Yes, my dear?" She replied. I felt calmer.
"Um...is the story that my dad told me true?"
There was a long pause.
"Well, I don't mean to scare you, but yes."
I gasped. This was happening all too fast. After all, it was my FIRST NIGHT HERE!!! What was going to happen in a week? A month? A year... oh boy...
"My family just left me behind. They probably forgot that I existed. But I payed them a visit and they know that I'm still watching." Lilly said. I listened carefully and I occasionally hummed a "mm-hmmm" to show that I was really paying attention.
"My poor mother..." Lilly said. "She had to watch her brittle husband die..."
I froze.
"My powers have gotten stronger. and they have someone to fear.""So, Harper." Lilly asked. "Will you promise to never tell anyone about me?" Lilly pleaded. I immediately agreed. I really felt sorry for her.
"Yeah."
"Awesome. But...can I tell you something?" the ghost said.
"Yes, of course. I am very trustworthy." I replied.
"I killed my family.".......................................................
I managed to fall back asleep after Lilly stopped talking. The last 4 words that she said to me still hung in the air. But I woke to Casey jumping on my bed. "Harperrrrrrrrrrrr!" she chanted.
"What!?" I muttered through sleepy eyes. Honestly, I had 2 hours of sleep that whole night.
"Breakfast is ready!" Casey said.
"I'll be down there in 20 minutes. Leave me alone!" I screamed.
Casey hopped off my bed.
"Oh, and your new friend is downstairs." Then she ran out of my room.
I perked up.
Is it Blake?15 minutes later, I made sure that I looked my best. Blake was probably here!
I ran down the stairs in excitement like a kid on Christmas. I was not paying attention to where I was dashing, because I slammed right into Blake's torso, knocking him off his feet. I tumbled right on top of him.
"O my gosh... Blake, I am so sorry!" I stood up and I helped him to his feet.
"Harper! Nice to see you!" he smiled. I did too.
"I wanted to say hi." he continued. "I know that we were supposed to meet later, but I couldn't wait. All I thought about was... well.... us meeting up."
I blushed.
"Me too..." I said. But that was a complete lie. Lilly was all I was thinking about.
My mom walked in the room.
"Good morning guys!!!" She sang. I gave her a look which basically said:
Do not even go there.Blake laughed as my mom danced out of the room.
"Anyways, do you want to go for a walk?" He asked. I nodded. As promised, Blake showed me the whole neighborhood. We actually walked around it at least 6 times. Then we stopped by a park bench beside a tree in the center of the neighborhood about 2 hours later. We both sat down.
"Did you enjoy the never ending tour?" He asked and he looked at me. I nodded.
"Great!" He exclaimed.I went on about how I decorated my room, and he seemed very interested.
We talked until 2:00 in the afternoon. Blake took me out to brunch at a local diner called "Fresno's Express Food". He seemed prepared to take me anywhere. After all, he brought cash to pay for our food. Then, we walked back to the bench that we talked at for so long.
"I had a great time." I said.
"As did I." he formally responded.
"We should do it again sometime," I suggested. Blake and I set up a time, just to make sure that none of us came too early. Then he walked me home.
"Bye Harper." he said. I winked at him as I walked up the stairs to my home.
