"Okay then." I froze at his voice. Was that actually his voice? It was very deep and thick. Even a little child might run away. I turned to look at him smiling. He had emerald eyes with black and brown hair. His tattoos all over his arms made him cool. I smiled back as I waved and left for school.

I had cleared the minds of Callie, Dylan and Kenzie about the dinner and even told them about the next one, not forgetting to give the pictures to Callie as she kept on asking.

"OMG the guy is in love with you! Just look at the pictures!" Callie had shouted.

"I'm so happy for you Nova!" Kenzie had said in tears staring at the pictures on Callie's phone.

"I'm with my knife!" Dylan had said gritting his teeth.

"Its just dinner what at all is this love thing about!"

"Do you know what it means?!" Kenzie had told me and before Callie could answer, the bell rang for our classes.

I was sitting near the window thinking about everything till the jerk came to me.

"I can sit by you." He smirked

"No!"

"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you." I rolled my eyes and looked through the window.

"What's up?"

"Nothing."

"Like seriously? Come on." I looked at him and he smirked. I looked away.

"I'm just thinking about my life. Everything that's going on. That's all."

He was silent and I looked at him, "what?"

"Nothing." He smiled and the teacher entered. I ignored him throughout the lesson as he tried to get my attention and concentrated.

"That's not how to hold the gun, you hold it with courage and then you aim. That's all." Dax told me. We started training at the park near home. I felt like dropping the gun and going to my room to sleep, but I didn't want to see my father's angry side. I wonder where my father got such a guy to train me. The training won't last long as I heard from Dax.

I held my gun as he instructed, with courage, and just pulled the trigger. The gun was heavy in my hands. I wonder how people in the movies and even the man in front of me hold it, as if they're holding an handkerchief.

"Good. You're a fast learner. Try it again and we're done for the day." His voice was so deep and commanding. I tried again and it hit close to the spot we aimed for on the tree. "You did good Nova, see you tomorrow." He grinned patting my back and left. We both smiled and parted.

I quickly got to my room, took a quick shower and straight to the kitchen. I was dying of hunger. My parents were in their room, I guess watching a movie because the noise was coming from the TV when I passed by their door. I got to the kitchen and made myself some pancakes. My Dad entered the kitchen.

"Hi Dad."

"How was the training?"

"It was okay, but why the training?"

"So that you can protect yourself. You'll get to know all these later." He winked. I was so curious to know why, but since he said I'll definitely know, I'll wait.

"Sure Dad, and by the way, why are you here? I thought you guys are watching a movie?"

"Yeah but I'm here to ask something." He rumbled, scratching the back of his neck.

"What's it Dad?" I asked concerned.

"W-we were both h-hungry and when we heard your footsteps pass our door, w-we knew you were going to the kitchen s-so after picking on w-who will approach you which is me, I decided to tell you to make some for us." He beseeched smiling innocently pointing to the pancakes.

I couldn't hold my laughter. So they actually had to go through this just to ask for pancakes? Even though my Dad is strict, his happy moods are always funny.

"You should have just told me, why this?" I stuttered in between guffaws as I served the pancakes and handed it to him, "Here you go."

"Thank you." He fake cried. As if he's been starving for years! I made myself some more and left for my room.

"The next time, you will go!" I heard my Dad tell my mom, "I had to fake cry so that she'll give it to me." I chortled and went to my room since I was starving.

"What are you doing here?" Shane was lying in my bed using his phone.

"Can't I visit you again?" I rolled my eyes and sat by him munching over my pancake.

"So what's with you and Blake?" I nearly choked. I looked at him smirking. Damnnn what's this guy thinking.

"What do you mean? He's not even my friend so what are you saying?"

"How about the dinner? You've turned down all the other guys who asked for you, but they're actually fools. Yet you accepted Blake's."

"They asked me if we could date, not dinner!" I rolled my eyes and continued eating. I wonder how he got to know.

"So if a-"

"Shut up Shane! You're making me lose appetite!"

"Okay fine, I've stopped." He sneered smirking and with his hands above. "What's all about the training?"

"Why did you come here?"

"Can't I be with my sister?"

"I don't know what its all about but Dad said I'll get to know one day. Do you know anything about it?"

"Yes I know that's why I asked you." He rolled his eyes.
Its so annoying when he's being sarcastic in almost everything he says. You'll hardly tell if he's being serious or not.

I turned my face to continue my pancake but... it was gone! Damnnnnnn! How! What the heck! Who t-!

"Shane! Where's my pancake?!" I was angry because I was starving and I don't joke with my food. I looked at him chewing. I grabbed the neck of his shirt and asked him, "How dare you take my pancake without telling me and when did you even take it?!"

He smirked, "Why do you think I came here? I saw you making some so I decided to wait for you here, and now I'm done, but I'm still hungry." He fake cried. I couldn't do him anything because the pancake was already gone. I looked at him gritting my teeth. I calmed down and went to the kitchen to get an orange juice. I came back and sat down beside him while he was glued to his phone.

"What's with you and Zara?" I asked and I got a deadly glare. I smiled innocently.
