The warm breeze heralds the coming heat of the day. Even though the early coolness has yet to burn off, I know for a certainty that the day will soon grow hot and sticky. It is still not even summer yet.
I found this empty journal in a box in the attic, and have decided to fill it with my thoughts. Having little experience with writing my own thoughts, I would hope to use this opportunity as a way to increase my skills in that area. We shall see how it goes.
I suppose most diaries are filled with dreams, hopes, and wishes, but mine will not. Those things are for pubescent girls.
Very well then. How to start this diary?
Ah, yes.
Yesterday I finished shading in a sketch of mine. It turned out very nicely. This is a more challenging task than I had anticipated.
I also read part of Caesar's Commentary on the Gallic Wars as well. A fascinating account of the turmoil that took place.
I got a long cut on my left forearm last night in patrol. It required 34 stitches. I suppose you could say it hurts, but I am used to having all sorts of bodily injuries.
Our grass needs to be mowed. This is a most complicated task, writing down one's thoughts. I have been trained all my life to not let the feelings out, and I suppose that makes it so much harder.
To make things easier, I will write down one interesting thing about me per entry.
For example, I am excellent at preparing traditional Chinese dishes. Pork Chow Fun, Wonton soup, the list goes on. If I am home alone over dinner, I will usually make myself Chinese food. That is all.
