Talent Show
"Our opening performance will be by two of our beloved advisers," Junmyeon introduced.
Jaehyun and Johnny were standing behind a massive blanket clipped to a string that was bound on two tall trees.
"Come out, Jaehyun and Johnny!" Junmyeon exclaimed. The younger boys came out from behind the blanket. They were carrying hula hoops in their hands.
"We're going to see how can hula hoop well with the most at once," Jaehyun explains.
The kids find this to be a lot cooler than it actually was, cheering in excitement.
A few minutes and four hoops around the boy's waists, Johnny is starting to falter. One slides down, no longer in rhythm.
"Jaehyun is the winner!" Jaehyun sends you a cocky wink with a smirk. You roll your eyes, trying to look annoyed but you can't help the smile that spreads across your lips, starting the clap for his victory. In front of you, Jinsoul was enjoying the performance. Well, up until the signals Jaehyun sent you. After seeing that, her shoulders rose slightly. She let out an annoyed breath.
After their competition, you were preparing with the girls to show the dance. Su Hyun was expressing her concerns regarding the event. "Don't worry, Su Hyun. It's just a fun performance. Even if you do mess up, I doubt anyone will notice. The main reason we're doing it is to raise energy," you reassure the insecure girl.
"Have fun, Su. I know I will," Jennie smiles. "Don't take it too seriously."
She nods. "Got it. Thanks, guys."
"If you mess up, keep going. It makes it less obvious," Momo adds, tipping her majorly oversized sunhat.
About halfway through your performance, you were switching places. Since you were executing Irene's role, you were about to take the center. But then, the music stopped. Out of nowhere. Your movements halted, looking over at the other girls who were clearly just as confused as you were.
You scanned the crowd, noticing the absence of a handful of people. Jinsoul, Johnny, and Jaehyun were not present. The boys being gone made sense, likely to be returning their materials to their respective storage units.
Su Hyun seemed thoroughly petrified. Her eyes were wide, lip jutted out in fear. The music halting was something that no one could expect or prepare for. The music comes back, encouraging the other girls to continue with you. Momo and Jennie have no problem moving on, laughing at the peculiar situation. Su Hyun is still frozen, not able to recollect herself. Jaehyun runs up on the stage, whispering to the young girl. She nods, running off. Jaehyun continues to play her part as Wendy.
You're a giggling mess when you're executing the kneeling ending pose. Even though Jaehyun was being sarcastic in the conversation a few days previously, he did end up on the stage performing red flavor.
"Thanks for taking my spot, oppa. I'm sorry I got so weird," Su Hyun mumbled to Jaehyun once all of the shows concluded.
"Don't apologize, sweetheart," Jaehyun pats her head. "I had fun."
You laugh out loud. "Probably too much fun."
Jaehyun flicks the back of your head, unfazed when you throw him the most threatening gaze you could muster.
A/n: This chapter was supposed to be short because the last chapter was long, I think the next one will be as well.
