***Eighteen***

When I arrived at work I dusted off any possible dust and ordered tea. My first ever client was coming today at 9am. I was excited yet worried if I'm gonna be able to counsel her well. I called Naomi.
Naomi: Hey.
Me: Hi. You panting?
Naomi: Yes. I decided to jog.
I laughed.
Me: Why?
Naomi: If there's any chance of me getting that job. I need to lose some pounds. Everyone in that place is a size 32 down.
Me: Don't kill yourself.
Noami: I just need to lose just 4 kilos then I'll be good to go.
Me: Good luck babe.
Naomi: Any new clients?
Me: Expecting one today. I signed a contract with Dr Khemin yesterday and I'm also working with Pat so I'm expecting more from today onwards.
Naomi: I'm so proud of you.
Me: Thank you. Did Khwali call you?
Naomi: I don't take his calls in the middle of the month. You know why.
I laughed.
Me: I sent him something.
Naomi: Keep spoiling him. He will be stealing cars when you stop.
Me: That'll never happ- uhm babe. I'll call you later. Send my love to the kids.
Naomi: Bye baby. Thanks for the call.

I hung up. The strange man took a seat on the one seater couch.
Me: Hi.
Him: Hi nice place.
Me: Thank you. How may I be of help?
Him: I'm Zwelethu Ntombela.
Me: Hello Zwelethu.
Zwe: From Khulubuse pi firm.
Me: Am I in trouble?
Zwe: I'm here to find out.

A knock came through. I've heard of this firm and its people who always dig up all the buried skeletons. Him being here grew a huge lump on my throat.
Me: Come in.

A beautiful big woman made her way in with a file on her hand.
Her: Hi. I hope I'm not late.
Zwe: No you aren't.
Her: I'm Nongcebo. Would you like to come with us miss Muleya?
Me: Come with you where?
Nongcebo: To our office. We have questions to ask.
Me: You can ask them here.
Nongcebo: Where were you on the 15th of October last year?
Me: I don't know.
Nongcebo: Girlie we-
Me: Hold it right there. I am not girlie. My name is Bianca.
Zwe: Answer the question Miss Muleya
Me: That was months ago. How could I possibly remember where was I? And you don't get to barge into my office and ask me question before telling me why.
Nongcebo shoved a picture in my desk.
Nongcebo: Do you know him?

Shit. Shit shit shit!
After so long, only now they found me? I felt my palms sweat.
Me: Yes.
Zwe: From where?
Me: Newspapers. He's a businessman, isn't he?
Nongcebo: He is. He works at a multi billionaire company.
Me: Hmm.
Zwe: You once attended one of his parties.
Me: Is that a question?
Zwe: I am telling you.
Nongcebo: And 15 million went missing.
Zwe: Nongcebo.
Nongcebo: Zwelethu I didn't come here to waste time. We wasted tons of money trying to find her. Miss Muleya do you mind telling us. Where's the money?
Me: What money?
Nongcebo: 15 million you took from Bhungane. We know you took it. You were there uninvited. You stole tickets to get in there and then money disappeared. Where is it?
Me: I wish I had it. I'd buy an office at waterfall or Sandhurst.
Zwe chuckled and got up.
Zwe: You stole from very dangerous men miss. If I were you I'd bring it back before they come for your family.
Me: Have a nice day Mr Ntombela and your girl. I wish you never come to my office to waste my time ever again.

I served them the best smile I could. They followed each other out. I finally breathe. I reached for my bag and took out my pills. I tossed them in and drank water.

I texted Adelaide to not open up for anyone. I couldn't trust her to not chicken out and sell us out to these bugs. I know how much of a pest they can be.

I got up and eased up my mind by walking to the door and back to my desk. I can't go to jail. I can't!

...
I left the office and took an uber to Ade's place. I was praying those assholes weren't preying on me. I got off 5 minutes earlier and took the short cut to her place.
