Two weeks passed and Amada was moving around a lot easier than she used to. She felt better than she had in almost four years. Dr. Montgomery approached her in the hall when she was on her daily walk through the center. “Hey, Amada. We checked your progress over the past few days, and we decided to let you go early. You’re healing a lot faster than we thought and you’re already able to walk throughout the entire center. You also don’t have any infections. So, you can leave on Wednesday.” Amada had been bored out of her mind for those two weeks. The only things she could really do was eat, sleep, walk, and play games on her phone. But, overall, she was incredibly grateful for everything that she can do, now that 100 pounds of her was gone.
Wednesday came and Amada was so ready to leave. After she packed up her stuff, she asked to borrow some athletic measuring tape. Fortunately, they had it and she measured her waist. She was down to 33.4 inches. Before the surgery, she measured at 65.2 inches. She couldn’t believe it. She was so happy she began to cry. She also asked to borrow a scale. They gave it to her, and she immediately placed it on the ground. When she stood on it, she couldn’t believe the number that flashed. 215.6. She gave back the scale and measuring tape as she made her way to the front desk. Amada paid her $4,500 bill and the two of them made their way home.
Four weeks later, Amada’s second appointment was coming up. Throughout that time, Amada had not gotten sick once and she continued to work out. After her first week of working out since she left the hospital, she stopped wearing her mask. Her immune system had really improved. Amada’s life was finally turning around.
