After healing from her second procedure, she felt like a completely different person. She lost that unwanted fat that had been destroying her life for years. Next was the breast reduction. The final step. She walked into the center looking and feeling better than ever. She was ready for her final procedure. She checked in with the secretary and Dr. Montgomery led her to the back.
After the procedure, he let her go home straight away once again. It was another small operation and she hasn’t gotten sick in a few months. He was confident that she would be okay. But after a few days, both breasts got infected. Along the incisions, it became red and inflamed. The nipple was a darker color and around it, it was a blueish color. Her skin was extremely irritated, and it was painful. She didn’t tell Bella about it because she was sure it was nothing and it would go away. But she was wrong. Her skin was changing color and certain parts were oozing. The tissue around the nipples was turning black. Amada was in so much pain and it was only getting worse. She decided to tell her sister.
Bella freaked out. It was disgusting and so agonizing. She called in another appointment for the next day. Amada was losing sensation in both of them and she read that loss of sensation could be permanent. She was terrified. She didn’t know what this was or what to do. Neither did Bella. They both did research and they didn’t find anything on this.
The next day, they went to talk to Dr. Montgomery. He asked her to let him examine them. He took off the surgical wraps and there was yellowish-green puss all over them. The skin was dying, and they wanted to know why. He started to test Amada on her pain level, sensation, and a few other things. Soon, he concluded that she had a rare condition called tissue necrosis. The chance of people getting it is only five percent. Her body tissue was dying because of the lack of blood flowing to it. It is irreversible and cannot be treated. He told her that she would have to let it heal on its own. It is detrimental, so if it cannot heal itself, it could be fatal.
They left the center confused, scared, and disappointed. That was not what Amada was hoping to hear. She was hoping it would be treatable, but it isn’t. She had gotten all of these surgeries so she wouldn’t die. But it ended up that she could die anyway. The two of them were terrified. They had no clue what was going to happen.
