Chapter 9

A FEW DAYS LATER

Mild: "I don't see you anymore and we don't hangout. I thought I was your BFF"

Gulf: (softly) "I spend so much time with Mew"

Mild: "you sure do. You attached hard considering it was a relationship out of a deal"

Gulf: "yeah it just happened that way"

Mild: "so am I going to hangout with you today? I have stories to share"

Gulf: "I want to but Mew and I have something going on"

Mild: "that's ok. Do you think he might need some space maybe he might need to hangout other his friends too?"

Gulf: "we enjoy each other's company so no"

Mild: "ok. I understand."

The other side of the room

Champ: "you wanna hangout today?"

Mew: "yeah sure. What time?"

Champ: "how about 6?"

Mew: "perfect I'll come and pick you up."

A few hours later

Gulf: (sees Mew goes to him excited) "last time we didn't get to watch our movie can we do that today."

Mew: "I kinda have plans"

Gulf: (pouting) "Can't we be together today?"

Mew: "how about tomorrow?"

Gulf: "no I want today"

Mew: "today I can't I have a thing with Champ"

Gulf: "are you choosing a Champ over me?"

Mew: "yes because I made plans with him first"

Gulf: "who is importanter?"

Mew: "that's not a word"

Gulf: "you get what I mean though"

Mew: "tomorrow yeah?"

Gulf: (insisting)"no today? I want to be with you today"

Mew: "I was with you all day today"

Gulf: "I want more"

Mew: "No. In as much as I like being with you, I also like to hang out with friends."

Gulf: (huffs and walks away.)

Mew: (lets him go)

Gulf: (sitting on the stone bench really sad)

Champ: (is headed home sees Gulf approaches him) "hey are you ok?"

Gulf: "yes please leave me alone"

Champ: "ok just wanted to make sure you ok. Classes are over you know that right?"

Gulf: "yes I do"

Champ: "and Mews gone too"

Gulf: "I know can you please just go"

Champ: "chill out"

Gulf: "how can I chill out when my boyfriend chose you over me"

Champ: "are you guys really serious with the dating thing?"

Gulf: "doesn't your friend tell you things?"

Champ: "he doesn't since he spends most of his time with you"

Gulf: "arrgghh"

Champ: (about to walk away but pauses) "oh by the way I like how you dress now. Makes you look sexy in a descent way."

Gulf: (blushes as Champ walks away. to himself) "he's gay"

Mild: (looks at Champ walking away approaches Gulf) "are you blushing?"

Gulf: "I'm warm"

Mild: "what did he want?"

Gulf: (looks at Mild)"the dude is gay"

Mild: "can you please answer my questions?"

Gulf: "he was checking up on me"

Mild: "weird but why would he?"

Gulf: "because I'm sexily decent now. Is it really a thing now?"

Mild: "it is now if my crush is even checking up on you"

Gulf: "one good thing came out of it though"

Mild: what is that?"

Gulf: "he's gay. It's confirmed"

Mild: "you figured that out how?"

Gulf: "he called me sexy"

Mild: "should I be happy he's gay or should I be worried he called you sexy?"

Gulf: "the latter is a fact So it doesn't count."

Mild: "can you promise me one thing as a friend"

Gulf: "yes?"

Mild: "he's off bounds"

Gulf: "eew what do you take me for?"

Mild: "a flirt monster?"

Gulf: "not anymore. I can't do that anymore." (Gets up to leave) "Do unto others right."

In class the following day

Mr Kang: "so what do you need to prepare for midterms"

Gulf (distractedly) "we need you sir"

Mr Kang "I know you do but what else?"

Gulf: "your hands. They'll help us get there"

Mr Kang: "how exactly"

Gulf: "writing UP and DOWN. LIFTING books and FLIPPING pages among other things"

Mild: (nudges him. whispering) "can you be horny somewhere else not in class"

Gulf: "I'm just letting the know he's needed"

Mild: "I thought you don't flirt anymore?"

Gulf: "I don't it's tha-" (Mew walks out of the room) "shit. I think I messed up"

Mild: "damn right you did."

Q: Y'all do you think Mew is right in treating Gulf that way?
