Chapter 11

The following Day afternoon Outside the classroom

Gulf: "can I please have your phone I need to play that game?"

Mew: "how about we install the game on your phone?"

Gulf: "no I want to use yours"

Mew: "you know I want to use my phone too"

Gulf: "I want to use it too"

Mew: "you know there's something called privacy"

Gulf: "you know I don't look around your phone all those times should have proved something"

Mew: "I know but still"

Gulf: "are you cheating on me?"

Mew: "what are you talking about?"

Gulf: "where is the whole privacy thing coming from?"

Mew: "isn't that common knowledge?"

Gulf: "I've had it with you with this common knowledge thing. You make me feel so stupid like I don't have common sense"

Mew: (nonchalantly) "it's hard to argue"

Gulf: "argh" (walks away)

Mew: (lets him go)

Inside the classroom

Mild: (sees Champ sitting alone in class goes to him) "hi you free for a chat?

Champ: "no but go ahead"

Mild: "ok so about that...uh thing is are you....I'm not really sure that's why I'm asking..... just to be clear so I won't offend you in any way....... It wasn't clear so I thought I should as-"

Champ: "-ok go ahead"

Mild: "please don't get offended I'm just curious"

Champ: "what are we talking about again? The conversation is about to be over and I still don't know what we are talking about."

Mild: "you being gay?"

Champ: "excuse me"

Mild: "not in a bad way"

Champ: "is there even a bad way in being gay?"

Mild: "you know what forget it. I just came to say hey"

Champ: (fake smile) "hey yourself"

Mild: "I'll just go" (turns to leave)

Champ: (shouting) "hey about Gulf"

Mild: (stops and turns around) "What about gulf?"

Champ: "so last time his number can I have it now"

Mild: "I still don't have it" (walks away)

In the Dining Hall eating with Mew's group of friends

Gulf: (takes Mews phone again)

Mew: (sees it but looks away)

Gulf: "the phone is locked can you please open it?"

Mew: "we just had this conversation"

Gulf: (sulking) "I still want to use it"

Mew: "no"

Gulf: (throwing a tantrum) "you won't let me have things and it's not fair"

Mew: "please stop"

Gulf: "no I still want it"

Mew: "I said no"

Gulf: "I want it though"

Mew: (screaming ) "CAN YOU PLEASE JUST STOP! I JUST NEED SOME SPACE AND PRIVACY!!!"

Gulf: (Shocked as the whole Dining Hall is staring at them)

Mew: "that came out wrong I didn't mean to say that"

Gulf: (doesn't know what to do with embarrassment. The whole DH is quiet. People staring at him still. Gets up. Tears flooding his eyes. He can't see anything.) "I'm sorry"

Mew: (sees he has messed up big time. Gets up too.) "I'm sorry let's sit down and-"

Gulf: (heart-breaking, feels really awkward, cheeks wet with tears, still trying not to cry in front of people) "no no I'm sorry" (starts to walk away people's eyes follow him)

Mew: (goes after Gulf. This time he knew he had to.) "Please stop" (stops Gulf at the centre of the room.)

Gulf: "Not here. Let me get out first. I can't do it here with people looking at me like this"

Mew: (pulls him out of the room they go outside to a more secluded place) "I'm sorry that was out of line"

Gulf: (willing tears to stop but they don't) "no I'm the one who is sorry. I should've stopped when you said no"

Mew: "still I'm sorry I shouldn't have screamed at you like that"

Gulf: (looking at everywhere but Mew. Walking away slowly) "it's ok it's...ok. I'll go now. I remembered I had something planned today I'll just go and do"

Mew: (follows Gulf unconsciously full of worry)

Gulf: "go back and eat I'll see you later (forces a smile on his face.)

Mew: (hesitant goes back inside thinks again and comes out looking for Gulf but he's not there anymore)

Texting

Mew: Where did you go?

Gulf: home. I spilled some food on myself

Mew: what time are you coming back?

Gulf: feeling lazy will just skip the remaining classes.

Mew: want to hang out later?

Gulf: oh I have plans too with some friends

Mew: you have friends?

Gulf: will do now

Mew: tomorrow then?

Gulf: yeah .... tomorrow
