[YOONMIN SPECIAL] Eighty Seven: A beta's struggle

"Will you really look after Minjun?" Yoongi asks Jungkook for the nth time as him and Jimin prepared for a day for themselves; probably a day off from a stressful routine of looking after Minjun and a stubborn alpha under the name of Jungkook.

"I promise hyung!" Jungkook flashes them a grin, cradling the baby in his arms that was peacefully asleep while Taehyung stood beside him- getting for his daily exercise which was walking around their garden.

"Phone us up incase he's being stubborn." Yoongi doesn't forget to assure Taehyung that even if they were busy making up the time they have spent watching over the new parents and baby, they would still come back if some things gets out of hand.

"I'm not," Jungkook couldn't help but whine- though it was true that he barely knew anything about parenting, he still tries his best to give both his son and Taehyung the comfort they needed. An alpha's true comfort. "I'll be looking after them!"

Jimin laughs at how eager Jungkook was, glancing at Taehyung who simply nodded his head along to Jungkook's promising words. "Alright, just don't do anything stupid like cooking with Minjun." He sarcastically spat even if he trusted Jungkook about the whole situation.

Even if Jungkook was mostly clueless and would always have to double ask Taehyung if he's doing something right- he couldn't help but appreciate how the alpha tried his hardest to accomplish things and learning new stuff as a parent.

Maybe Taehyung did change Jungkook in a better way.

"Alright, we have to go now- or else we'll be late from the appointment." Yoongi ends their little topic, smiling at the mates who returned it genuinely. "Take care while we're out yeah?"

"Okie hyung. You two enjoy your date and don't worry about us." Taehyung waves his hands goodbye to his half brother and to Yoongi as well. "I'm pretty sure Kookie knows what to do when I'm resting."

Upon sparing a glance to his mate, he couldn't help but release a few giggles though he eventually had to stop as it hurt to do so. "Why are you so tensed when I mentioned about me resting huh?"

Jungkook blinks, looking down at Minjun who was still in deep slumber. "Nothing.. O-of course, I can manage." The alpha then flashes a cheeky smile.

"I know you can, Kook ah. Just keep it cool and don't stress out."  Jimin bids off his last reminders before walking off with Yoongi leading the way. "Like we said, call us if anything goes off!"

The two mates then settles to their car, somehow relieved to take some time off. It would probably happen once in a while, but they do enjoy moments like these. It was hard to cope up with a childish alpha, a pained mate who had undergone c-section and a crying Minjun.

"I don't think we would need to hear Seokjin's news again, Yoongi ah.." Jimin buckles up, looking out the window as Yoongi also did his own.

"But you know we can't give up. Remember that Seokjin mentioned about betas having the smallest possibility of getting pregnant?" The alpha then twists the key to turn on the engine, with Jimin getting lost to his own thoughts.

"Doc, can I ask a question?" Before Seokjin could take his leave from visiting Taehyung and Minjun, he halts upon Yoongi's call.

"Sure dear. What is it?" Jin smiles at him, with Jimin standing beside his mate with a faint blush visible on his cheeks.

"Can betas like Jimin get pregnant too, even for a small possibility?"

Seokjin paused to think, unsure if he should be frank or to sugarcoat his words. Either way, it would hurt the couple who just wanted to have their own family like Taehyung and Jungkook.

"Oh my, that's a pretty difficult question for me to answer." Seokjin releases a chuckles before looking at Yoongi. "Alphas may be known for knotting and breeding their mates, but I am so sorry to say that betas have no power to carry a baby, especially male betas." He explains, trying to sound kind as possible though he knew it broke Jimin's hopes into bits.

"Yoongi, I told you.." Jimin mumbles to his partner who looked hurt by he news, but still he did not stop there.

"But what if Jimin can, doc? Will there be a miracle?" Yoongi pushes another question that truly made Seokjin felt guilty. He could read Yoongi's eyes that yelled desperation, not wanting to disappoint Jimin nor himself.

"I.." Seokjin shuts his eyes before looking down. "I will run a few tests and do deep research for this one. I may be a doctor but this is something I am still not confident about when dealing."

This had given Jimin and Yoongi hope again, that maybe- just maybe, they will finally have their own family even if it's near impossible.

But due to the countless news of Jimin's inability to give birth, the beta lost hope though he could see Yoongi was still pushing everything to work out.

"Jimin ah?" Yoongi suddenly spoke, snapping the latter out of his thoughts instantly. "Oh, I'm sorry. Were you saying something?" Jimin asks, transferring his attention to his mate that was focused on the road.

"I was just asking you about where should we eat after the appointment." Yoongi says, sparing his mate a glance as he turns to a corner.

"Any place would do.." Jimin assures, "I'm craving for samgyupsal so maybe we should find somewhere that serves what I want." He suggests, knowing Yoongi would nag him to give out a specific restaurant.

"Okay," Yoongi agreed, though he didn't like the way Jimin was acting- silent and trapped in his thoughts. The alpha felt bad, maybe the male was just too stressed about hearing the same old line from Seokjin though the doctor was trying his best.

"I know it's pretty difficult for the two of us, I'm really sorry Jimin ah.. I just felt like I'm not a responsible alpha if I give up so easily." Yoongi sees the hospital from afar, "I know it's gonna be the same old line but at least we tried.."

"I understand Yoongi ah." Jimin says. "I know you just want to have a kid that came off from our bond, I'm so sorry I couldn't give it to you." He doesn't forget to apologize, somehow feeling like his breed didn't match Yoongi's as the male wanted something he couldn't give.

But it doesn't mean he would want Yoongi to find any surrogates. He is selfish and he admits that, or maybe he just loves Yoongi so much that without him his existence no longer matters.

It was all for their mate bond. It created something just as powerful as love itself.

"You shouldn't blame yourself for this baby." Yoongi stops the car by the time he had parked it by an empty space, unbuckling his seatbelt just so he can lean to his mate. "There would be a point where we'll finally decide what's best for us. We would adopt as many kids as we would want, but for now let's hope for a miracle to happen." He kisses the latter's forehead, nose and lips.

"I love you Yoongi." Jimin was quick to blurt out, somehow overwhelmed at how much love the alpha would always give him. "Promise you'll stay with me even if I can't have a baby?"

"I love you too, Jimin." Yoongi returns the endearment with a smile. "I promise that I will never leave you. I really do mean that."

They seal their promise with another sweet kiss, before getting themselves ready to meet up with the appointment scheduled for them.
