The king stands up and opens his office door for me. I follow him out of the room with my parents and Lizzy following. He leads us up two flights of stairs and down multiple hallways.
He stops in front of two doors and opens one. "This is your room. As I said my room is right here next to yours. When you feel comfortable and move into my room with me, we'll convert this to your secret room, so it will have your desk and anything else in here you would like. We'll remove this door and make the other one a hidden one." I smile. 'I do love my privacy!' I nod in thanks.
"I believe there is a ball we have to get back to?" He nods and holds out his arm. I put my hand through the loop of his arm and follow. The walk through the castle back to the ballroom feels shorter than leaving it. We walk to outside the ballroom door and stop. I put my mask back on and he does the same. We link arms again and he nods at the guards, signaling to them to open the doors.
From there it's like times slows down as we walk in. The guests have changed to members of his pack and mine. I look back at my mom and she nods with a smile. I look up at the King and notice that he's looking at me. I sorta smile at him and receive one in return.
The King leads me to the front of the room and we turn to the guests. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close. This causes me to smile. The ballroom falls quiet.
I next hear him speak up. "Today I'm overjoyed to announce that I, your King, has found my mate." People start clapping and cheering. He looks at me causing me to look at him. He leans down and softly kisses my forehead, making everyone cheer again. I smile. He leans down and whispers in my ears "I'm sorry if what I'm doing makes you uncomfortable, we just need to show that we are loving on each other. Ok?" I nod and lean my head on his chest while he rubs his hand up and down my side.
The music starts and people start to dance, while the King and I pose for pictures. When it's done he walks me into the center of the ballroom.
We stand arm length apart when he puts his right hand on my lower back. We start to sway to the music and occasionally spin.
I notice everyone starting to stare and I starts to get flustered. "I feel uncomfortable under this many pairs of eyes ." He nods. "I'm sorry Jalisa, just until the dance is done, then we can go and sit, ok?" I nod.
He spins me. As we start to sway again when his left hand raises my right hand elegantly and in sink to our sway. He then twirls me hand.
While we dance we just make eye contact. His ocean blue eyes drown me and make everything around us fade. I'm pulled back to reality when I think of what Kieron and Grayson did making that fear that I've been fighting to hide for so long is close to coming to the surface.
Before we know it the dance is over, he bows while I curtsy. The guests around clap with glee and we stand straight and he smiles at me.
That smile melts into a worried look when he sees my condition. He looks to someone behind my figure when I suddenly feel my mother's arms wrap around me and I lean into her touch. My father acts like they're congratulating us so he shakes hand with The King and hugs him.
I smile up at my mom and mouth thank you. She smiles and nods. I hug her back, tightly then turn to the king. He takes my hand and leads us to the thrones. 'It's almost over.'
He helps me sit in my throne then he sits in his. He nods at the guests to continue, and they gladly do. I take a deep breath and watch the guests dance. 'This feels weird. I'm not use to this.' I can feel the King's eyes bore into my head but I don't look. I know he's my mate, but I don't know him, and my mother's mate hurt her so, I don't really know any better.
I see a baby going towards the throne causing me to giggles. The king's stands up and picks up the little baby. He turns to me and I smile. He walks up to me. "Jalisa, this is my youngest sister, Jules."
