Chapter Fourteen

"How did you get out of jail?" I asked suspiciously.

"That's none of your business." he said rudely.

"Actually, before I ask you more questions, where is mum and Steve?" I asked indubitably.

"Somewhere. You'll never find out. You'll suffer. This is what you really deserve." he said idiotically.

"Look here Connor. If you think I'm afraid, you're mistaking. I don't even understand what's the point of making me suffer. You're not doing anything. It's as if I haven't suffered enough." I said expressively.

"Hahah. You made me laugh. The funny thing here is that you think you are really innocent here." Connor chuckled.

"You idiot. You were so trustful before I found out you were the killer. What were you thinking?"
I yelled.

Slowly, I realized the radiant light of the TV shining on a pair of sunglasses. I picked it up firmly and scanned it quickly and carefully.

"What are you doing?" he asked curiously as he snatched the sunglasses from my sweaty palm.

"Um. What are these glasses doing here? Whose are these?" I asked peculiarly.

"Find out you dork. You really are suspicious." he said oddly.

"The only thing suspicious here is your character. I trusted you and now you're an ass." I said confidently.
"Wait a minute! I know whose glasses those are." I said positively.

"Oh yeah? Who is it?" Connor asked silly.

"Those are Jen's! What was she doing here?!" I yelled frantically.

I put the glasses firmly on the table.

"Isn't that a coincidence? I've never planned this situation." he said firmly trying to act innocent.

"What business did you have with her? What was she doing here?" I emitted.

"Oh. You won't worry about that. She was here with Chris." He grinned.

"Wait a minute, that's why I saw Chris's car speed up as he flashed in front of me." I said. "He had his car full. Who was with him? "

"Stop acting dumb. No one was with him." Connor said guiltily.

"Wait a minute! That was Steve and Mum! You're cruel." I said feeling petrified of what Chris may do to them.

"So you're a geek." Connor chuckled.

"Go back from where you came from." I said nervously.
"Where are they?"

"You'll never find out. I believe you won't see them ever again." Connor said thoughtfully.

"Don't be ridiculous. Wait a minute..." I said starting to catch up. "If I came towards the south. They went upwards. Towards the Mountains!!" I yelled with excitement.

"Well. Go after them and I hope you die in the cold." Connor said rudely.
"Oh and I've got a fact since you're about to be 18. You're adopted." Connor replied.
