The man in the cabin woke up, his head hurting from getting hit by a wooden board. He sat up and looked around until a small white dog appeared in front of him, barking, he jumped up from the table, ending up getting his head trapped in a birdcage as two more figures entered through his window.

The first was a girl, probably in her early to mid-twenties, wearing male clothing and who had her red hair tied back with a bandana. She was quickly followed by a young man, around the same age, wearing a blue sweater. The two had appeared to climb up on a rope from somewhere bellow.

" I giant rat of Sumatra!" the man whose cabin this was, yelled upon seeing the small dog. Tintin and Ana fell from the window onto the man's bed before getting up and getting noticed by the man." Aha! So you thought you could sneak in behind me and catch me with my trousers down huh!?"

Tintin grabbed the first thing he could find to use in self-defense as Ana grabbed Snowy and tried to keep out of the way while the two men fought.

" I'd rather you kept your trousers on if it's all the same to you, there is a Lady present," Tintin said, momentarily forgetting that Ana felt like sayings such as that were implying that women are weak.

" I know your deal! You're one of them!"

" Sorry?"

" They sent you here to kill me!"

" Look we don't know who you are!"

" That's how he's planned to bump me off! Murdered in my bed by a baby-faced assassin and his hoyden girlfriend!"

" Assassin? Look you've got it all wrong," Tintin said, throwing his ' weapon' to the side." We were kidnapped by a gang of thugs.

" The filthy swine," the man sobbed, dropping his weapon to the floor." He's turned the whole crew against me!"

" Who?" Ana asked, slightly concerned about this man's well-being.

" A sour-faced man with a sugary name. He's bought them all off, every last man."

" Sakharine?" Tintin and Ana asked simultaneously.

The man glared up at them." Nobody. Takes. My. Ship."

" You're the captain?" Ana asked, surprised.

" 'Course I'm the captain, who else could I be?"

The two others looked at each other in disbelief before Tintin told the man to be quiet.

The Captain, not listening to him, continued to talk," I've been locked in this room for days, with only whiskey to sustain my mortal soal."

Ana cautiously approached the cabin door with an empty bottle in one hand to use as a weapon. She placed her free hand on the door handle, listening outside to see if there was anyone there, before turning the doorknob and opening the door as she and Tintin turned to look at the Captain.

" Oh... Well, I-I assumed it was locked."

" Well, it's not," Tintin pointed out as Snowy exited the room." Now you must excuse us. If they find us here they'll kill us. We have to keep moving. Try and find our way off this drunken tub." He slammed the cabin door closed behind him.

Tintin and Ana rounded the corner, attempting to find a way to leave, but ran into one of the ship's crew members, who was carrying a tray with a full bottle on it, presumably for the Captain. Upon spotting the escaped prisoners the man dropped the tray and attempted to fight Tintin, who dodged the first attack but got hit another couple of times before the Captain threw open his door and hit his old crewmate in the face.

" Thanks," Tintin panted before shoving the unconscious man into the captain's cabin.

" Pleasure."

" I'm Tintin by the way, and this is my coworker and assistant, Miss Ana Smith," Tintin introduced himself to the captain as the two shook hands

" Haddock, Archibald Haddock." Both Tintin and Ana froze as Haddock continued," there's a longboat up on deck, follow me."

" Hang on a second," Tintin said, turning to look at the captain as he exited the room." Did you say haddock!?"
