Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters! Apart from Brandon, Casey, maybe a few side characters, and the eventual antagonist! Roman, Patton, Remy, Emile, Logan, and Virgil are all Thomas Sanders' characters!

*Virgil POV*

Brandon, Casey, and Remy. Those are my roommates. I don't know what they're studying, and frankly, I don't care. I'm not exactly here to make friends, that was hard enough in high school. I mostly take the online classes for college, but I have classes on campus a few times a week.

My college in New York, which is a bit of a change from Wisconsin. I'm happy I at least got to drive here with Logan instead of flying.

"Hey babes! I found a new coffee shop nearby! Who wants to come?" Remy asks, walking into our dorm.

Our dorm is fairly small, really only fit for three people. We have a bathroom, a small kitchen, and two bedrooms. Remy agreed to share one of the bedrooms with me. So we're pretty cramped, but at least I'm cramped with someone who stays up as late as me.

Our bedroom has one desk, a bed, and a mattress that I sleep on. Which I'm fine with. I just don't have a bed frame. The other room does. Our dorm is mostly the two rooms, with the small kitchen and bathroom just outside. I think it's an overstatement calling it a kitchen. It's a stovetop and oven, a sink, a garbage can, and a few cabinets. And the fridge, of course. We don't have a dishwasher but agreed to wash our own dishes. We also store our non-refrigerated items in one of the cabinets.

I close my computer, finishing my coursework for the day. It's almost the end of our first quarter, and I've had more late nights studying than my Junior and Senior year combined.

I walk into the kitchen and open the cabinet, browsing my shelf. I notice my box of granola bars has been opened. I sigh, figuring it's Brandon. I've caught him stealing my food way too many times already. I make a mental note to ducktape all my food shut.

I never confront Brandon about it, seeing as the first time I nearly had a panic attack before knocking on his door.

"V! Do you wanna come? I'm sure they're still open, and it's pretty quiet there," Remy says.

"Sure, whatever. Remind me to yell at Brandon again," I say.

"Will do gurl," He says.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Casey says, hopping a little as he gets on his shoes.

I bite back a groan. I'm still not a people person, and although Casey is nice he's way too extroverted for me. But he seems to understand I don't like to talk, so there's that.

At around 9 PM we make it to the coffee shop. That's when I remember I still have the homework for today left to do. Luckily, Casey lets me use his as he and Remy chat over some coffee. They seem to get along just fine, but Remy gets along with pretty much anyone.

At nearly 10:30 they ask us to leave because they're closing. I'm a little ahead on my work today, so I have it finished for a change. But that won't stop me from double and triple-checking it.

---

"Remy, go to bed. I have a class tomorrow morning," I grumble.

"Gurl, I just had three cups of coffee. No chance of me sleeping," He says.

"Fair enough," I say.

I'm too nervous to ask him to quiet down his music. Our roommates can't hear it at all, but I can.

In the morning, I obsess over my appearance, making sure I look presentable but not someone you want to talk to. I put on the hoodie that Logan made me last Christmas and grab a snack on my way out.

My backpack is heavy with the few textbooks I had to buy. I didn't need as many as most people, but that doesn't stop them from being heavy and annoying.

*Logan POV*

I'm in my dorm, finishing the last of my homework when Emile walks in. We're roommates. He's currently studying to become a therapist, like his mom. Our dorm is decent, with two desks and two beds. Overall, it is fairly small but not cramped. A good space for two people. Our college is in California, far away from my parents.

"It's almost dinner time," He says, "I made us some pasta,"

I'm about to thank him when we hear a splash coming from the kitchen.

"Monkey feathers," Emile mutters, rushing back to the kitchen.

I walk out into the small kitchen to see water all over the stovetop and floor. By the looks of things, the water boiled over. I attempt to salvage the pasta as Emile wipes up the water.

"Emile, next time you should consistently watch the water," I suggest.

"I know, I know," He says, "But is it ok still?"

"Yes," I say.

We eventually clean up the mess and have dinner. We switch off cooking and cleaning, but we have a rule that if you make a big mess you have to clean it. Emile is a good roommate, and I certainly would prefer him over a stranger. Although he mostly speaks in cartoon references, he's quite smart.

---

It's almost the end of our first quarter. Things are going quite well overall. I just got off work and I return to the seemingly endless amount of homework in my dorm.

After about an hour, I hear a knock on the door. Emile walks in. He usually just knocks to let me know he's coming in. I do the same for him, as we respect each other's privacy.

"Hey, Logan!" Emile says.

"Yes?" I ask.

I don't turn my attention away from my textbooks and notebooks.

"The study abroad program is starting in a few weeks. You might want to look into it!" He says, handing me a sheet of paper.

I look it over.

"Maybe. Thank you," I say.

"You should probably also go to bed soon. It's almost 11, and it's not healthy to stay up very late," Emile says.

I jump up.

"11? Oh no, I forgot!" I say.

I forgot my promise to call Virgil and see how he's doing. He knows I never forgot these things. I feel bad for forgetting.

"You can always do it tomorrow," Emile says.

I nod, a little defeated. I go to my bed and take off my glasses. Sleep doesn't come to me for another hour, though, as the guilt inside me is the only thing I can think about.

It's the sequel! I really hope it doesn't turn out bad like some sequels do. Guess we'll all find out in time. I hope you enjoyed reading, and feel free to leave any thoughts or feedback in the comments. Have a splendorous day/night you magnificent peep!
