*Patton POV*

Today is February 17th. Exactly one year ago today Logan gained his freedom and came to live with me. How was that already a year ago? It feels like yesterday.

I went shopping with Roman yesterday. I left Virgil out because I don't think he's want to go and be reminded of he and Logan's relationship. Or lack thereof.

We're setting up the party in our apartment. Virgil said he'd hide in my room if he had to. Since we have almost no money, we skipped out on most party decorations. We just got two gift bags and cards for our gifts, and some cake supplies. Logan prefers cake that's not from a box, and I prefer baking things that aren't from a box. It's a win-win!

"Hey, Roman," I say, "When should we call him over?"

He shrugs.

"Maybe around 2? I get home from filming at 1:30, so that should be a good time," He says.

It's the morning right now, around 7. Virgil's still asleep on the couch, and I probably would be too, if I wasn't helping Roman plan for later.

"Mk," I say, "Should I just tell him it's his birthday celebration?"

"Ehh, maybe not. We want it to be a surprise, right?" Roman asks.

I nod.

"I guess so," I say.

"Just tell him you want to hang out. It's not a lie, so you won't feel bad," Roman suggests.

I do get uneasy about lying. Especially for selfish reasons. But this is a surprise, so I guess it's more ok.

"Ok," I say.

Roman checks the time.

"I got to get going, love ya!" He says, planting a small kiss on my forehead before leaving.

"Love you too, Ro," I say.

*Virgil POV*

I wake up at around 10, which would normally be pretty late for me, but I was up until 5 AM watching The Office, so it's a more reasonable time to be up.

After a few hours, I notice Patton hasn't baked like he said he would. It's almost 1 PM, and he said Logan was coming around 2. But if you take into account the time it takes to bake and cool and frost a cake, Patton doesn't have much time to do it if he keeps stalling.

Maybe I should just make the cake since it seems Patton forgot. Or maybe he's just busy. Either way, he isn't making it.

Logan once told me his favorite cake was actually lemon, not vanilla like Patton and Roman thought. I look up a recipe for lemon cake and it looks like I'll need lemons. What a shock.

"I'm going to the store, I'll be back in a bit," I call.

"Ok!" Patton shouts from his room.

---

I get back with 6 lemons. I'm pretty sure everyone at the store was judging me as I bought them. Why would an 18-year-old need six lemons? They don't know what they're for. They were definitely judging me anyway.

I make the cake batter and put it in a thing to bake it. I'm not a baker, I have no idea what it's called. All I know is that it's not a Bundt cake pan. Patton would probably know what it's called.

An hour later and the cake is done. It's 2 PM. Roman came home a half-hour ago and disappeared into his room. I take the cake out and put the glaze on it. It doesn't look too bad. I'm better at making cookies.

Patton comes rushing out of his room.

"Oh crap, I forgot the-"

He stops when he sees me.

"Oh, you made it already," He says, "Thanks,"

I shrug.

"You forgot," I say.

"Ok, well I'm going to call him now, so I'm guessing you don't want to be around," Patton says.

In my mind, that translates to 'I don't want you to be around in case of a fight'. So I grab my computer, a blanket, and my headphones and go into Patton's room. Even though he's almost 19 and in college, he still sleeps with three stuffed animals.

I sit on the floor and pull up Netflix. I should be doing schoolwork right now, but I feel like procrastinating.

*Logan POV*

At around 2 PM, I get a call from Patton. He wants to hang out at his apartment. I agree and make my way there.

When I arrive, Patton tackle-hugs me. Once he let's go, Roman hands me a gift bag.

"Happy birthday, Lo," He says.

I had forgotten it was my birthday. It's not something I really pay attention to in the first place, last year being the exception.

I open the bag, it has a London keychain and a new journal.

"Thank you," I say.

"Not a problem!" Patton says cheerfully.

"Is Virgil here?" I ask.

It would be nice to at least see him. I'm

"Why? Aren't you two kinda mad?" Patton asks.

"Yes and no. I just want to talk to him," I say.

"He's not," Roman says.

"Oh. I see," I say.

"Take another look then,"

I turn around and see Virgil burst out of Patton's room. He walks straight over to me and I hug him.

"....Is there something here we're missing?" Roman asks.

"Yes," Virgil and I both say.

After a long pause, Roman says,

"Care to elaborate?"

"Nope," Virgil says, popping the 'p'.

"We kissed a few nights ago in the rain," I say.

I see both Patton and Roman look extremely confused. I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't understand feelings.

"And then I knew he still loved me," Virgil says, "So something must have been up that caused the incident,"

"Congratulations, you are officially the last person to know," Roman says.

Virgil rolls his eyes.

"I would have known sooner if someone hadn't shoved me in a different room or covered my ears every time Lo's name was said," He says.

I can understand why Patton and Roman might have done that, but it seems a little extreme. Or 'extra' as I think my vocab cards used to say.

"Fair enough. But I think now would be a good time to get all the stories straight. Or gay, in this case," Patton says.

Virgil snorts.

"I guess so. Logan, you go first," He says.

So I'm going to be writing a story to enter for the Watty's, so updates for this story might be a little slower. I hope you enjoyed reading, and feel free to leave any thoughts or feedback in the comments. Have a marvelous day/night you magnificent peep!
