y/n Pov

I woke up around 2 am so It's still dark. I walk toward the door of mine and Meli's shared room. 

"n/n?" I look over to see a shirtless Meli sitting up from his bed. My face gets red and I look away but he makes me look at him again. "where are you going?" he asks getting closer to me.

"Oh..I couldn't sleep, so I was just gonna get some air." I say turning around again. I feel a hand on my wrist pulling me back and I land on a bed. 

"M-Meli? what are you doing?" 

He lays me down and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me into his bare chest. "What-" I cut myself off and relax in his hold. "thank you Meli" he tightens his grip on me and I listen to the sound of his heartbeat. 

"I swear I protect you." 

I feel the heat rising to my cheeks "But what about Elizabeth?" I get no answer and just leave it alone. "Well, let's get to sleep. We've got training tomorrow." I say closing my eyes.

"To early.." I say myself getting up. "The guys must be training already." 

I stand up and put on my normal clothes heading outside. 

"y/n! watch out!" I look up and see Kings mini blades rushing down to me. I squeal and put my hands in front of me bracing for impact, but it never came. I feel a body close to mine and I look up to see Meli looking at me with a smile. 

My face gets a bright red and I back up. 

"Sorry, Meli!" I say running over to Ban.  He looks at me with a smirk and I look forward still flustered. "How was your night with cap~ did you kiss anymore? or did you-" 

"Ok, let's continue training!" I yell trying to hide my embarrassment. Meli walks up to us and I look at him. 

"For today's training, I want to work on your newfound ability. Ok, n/n?" he says ruffling my hair. I smile and nod as we walk over to a more open area away from Ban and King's sparing match.

"So it seems my power activates when I see people I care about get hurt," I say collecting my observations. 

Meli nods and grabs my hand.

"Let's try this." he says putting his hand on my forehead. "try and think of someone you don't want to lose. then focus on protecting them and bring out your flames!" I sweatdrop. 

"You make it sound like a walk in the park" 

"You don't know unless you try!" 

I roll my eyes and smile a little before closing them and thinking of someone. 'Jayda, I dont want you to get hurt again' I keep thinking about how im going to keep her safe, and I concentrate as much as I can. 

I feel the heat around me, but I know im in control so I dont mind it. 

I think about how Im going to make sure I help her whenever I can so she can't get hurt, and so Ethan doesn't have to worry anymore.

'I think Im doing it!'

3rd Pov

The sins focus on the training that they were doing before after Meliodas and y/n walk over to do some other things. 

"Captain! What's wrong with y/n?" King says looking at the two.

She was indulged in flames with her eyes closed, just like the times when she loses control but this time she was meditating on something.

"Don't worry about it, I won't let anything happen to her" he says in a reassuring tone with his usual happy smile. "

"Why dont you tell her how you feel Cap?" Ban says referring to his feelings. "Lord Meliodas? I think you should." They all look over to see Elizabeth standing there with a sweet smile. "Elizabeth? what do you mean?" 

She looks at him with her usual concerned face and walks up to them. "Im ok Lord Meliodas, now that I know how you feel about her, I can move on knowing you're happy. As long as we stay friends," she says with a smile of happiness.

The sins look over and her with shock and Meliodas looks over at her with gratefulness. He walks over to her and pulls her into a hug. "Thank you so much, Elizabeth." She returns the hug.

"Cap? What's wrong with y/n?" he says looking over to see her standing up with blue flames in her hands with white eyes. 

She begins to walk forward slowly and surely making her way toward them. "C-Captain! I dont think she's controlling it anymore!" King says nervously.

"Got you good!"  

They all look ay y/n with confused faces and Ban laughs a little walking over to her. "It was a joke King!" she says walking up to them as her eyes return to normal and her flames go out. "Good Job controlling them n/n!" Meliodas says with a smile. 

King sighs in relief and Ban smiles a little. 

Everyone returns to training and Meliodas and y/n continue to see what she can do with her power. After a while, she goes to walk inside for something to drink until she starts to hear King and Ban talking.

"Ban, you don't seem like your usual self. It's like your trying not to think of something" King says causing her to look over at them.

Ban gives King an emotionless face and goes behind him grabbing him and throwing his to the ground.

"I just want to crush the Holy Knights and take back the kingdom as soon as possible, that's all," Ban says as King recovers from he attack. Y/n walks up to the two and crosses her arms. "what's going on?" 

The two of them look over and Ban motions for her to come over.

y/n Pov

"since when do you two care about what happens in other people's lives," King says suspiciously. "Arent you like that too." I say cocking my head to the side. 

"Yeah, but its fiiine~ Im just helping Diane, that's all." I roll my eyes and Ban looks over at me, I walk over to him getting on his back.
